Talk by Anuraag Nair from Anglo-Eastern

Mr. Anuraag Nair, Fourth Engineer working for Anglo Eastern Ship Management, visited Sahyadri and addressed the Mechanical Engineering Students & faculty members on 22nd Nov’19. He briefed the students regarding the career aspects and opportunities available at Anglo-Eastern. He also spoke about life at Anglo Eastern, the levels or ranks in Anglo Eastern and procedure for writing exams.

Anglo Eastern Univan Group is a ship management company, with nearly 900 ships under third party management. The company was formed by an August 2015 merger between the Anglo Eastern group and Hong Kong-based Univan group. As of November 2018, it was the largest ship manager in the world (by number of ships) and the second largest in the world (by number of seafarers).

Dept. of Civil Engineering organized DAC Meeting

Dept. of Civil Engineering conducted the Department Advisory Committee (DAC) Meeting on 21st Nov’19. The activities conducted in the department were presented by Dr. Nalini E Rebello, Head of Civil Engineering before the committee. The initiatives taken up by the college in achieving the Higher Order Program Outcomes (POs) were briefly discussed.

Anil Baliga, Proprietor of Techno Trades; Dr. Gautham Jeppu, Associate Professor from MIT; Mr. Rohith Kumar A S, Alumni of 2011-15 batch and Mr. Nemiraj, Parent of a student shared the opinion on enhancing the exposure of students towards issues which are not in the curriculum. Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal; Dr. Rajesha S, Dean Academics; Dr. Premananda Shenoy, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering; Prof. Hemantha Prabhu, Department of Civil Engineering, NBA Coordinators and other Faculty were present during the meeting.

Stock Market Awareness Programme by first batch of interns at Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP

Interns of Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP conducted Stock Market Awareness Programme for the 1st year MBAs. The group also educated the students in the stock market game by making it easier to invest virtually.
