First Year Engineering Students Participate in Panel Discussion in Commemoration of National Organ Donation Day First Year Engineering Students Participate in Panel Discussion in Commemoration of National Organ Donation Day First Year Engineering students of ‘H’ section participated in a Panel Discussion organized by Organ Donation India Foundation, at Indiana Hospital, Mangaluru in commemoration of National Organ Donation Day on 27th Nov’19.

The programme was organized by Mr. Lal Goel, Chairman of Organ Donation India Foundation in order to spread awareness about organ donation. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman-Bhandary Foundation was invited as Guest Panellist for the awareness programme.

The students, along with Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, actively participated in the Panel Discussion and encouraged the youth to come forward to pledge their organs for donation. The programme was live streamed in many social and news media sites.

The students were accompanied by Prof. Deepashree and Prof. Shruthi for the programme.

FKCCI conducts Awareness Programme on ‘Manthan 2020’ FKCCI conducts Awareness Programme on ‘Manthan 2020’  Delegates from Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) - Dr. B Amarnath, Chairman–Manthan Committee, FKCCI; Mr. J R Bangera, Ex-President-FKCCI and Ms. Indrani Mukerjiee, Managing Director–Bamboooz, visited Sahyadri and conducted an Awareness Programme on Manthan 2020. They spoke on the 12th edition of Manthan, a Business Plan Presentation - 2020.

Manthan is a unique educational initiative enlivening the true philosophy of education for societal development. Through this initiative, they strive
• To make citizens learned and not just educated
• Enhance power of thinking in children
• Empower women through education
• Improve awareness about self and society

The speakers also discussed about the Entrepreneurship Development Cell in the campus and its relevance in the present competitive world. They encouraged the students to approach them for any future start-up initiatives and assured them of their full-fledged support for the same.

Introduction of the Mentor:

Prof. Vijay C P has completed his M.Tech from Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management with specialization in Computer Science & Engineering and B.E from B.G.S.I.T B.G. Nagar, Mandya. He has 8 years of teaching experience. His area of interest is Networks and Machine learning. He is the author of various research articles published in reputed journals. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. in VTU under the guidance of Dr. Pushpalatha, Associate Professor, Computer Science & Engineering.

Mentees’ Details:
• Dharitiri Rai B is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from St. Theresa’s School and PUC from Expert PU College, Mangaluru. She has participated in various competitions like Quiz, Model preparation etc. Her hobbies are listening to music and playing games.
• Shrishali is from Mangaluru. She pursued her schooling from St. Joseph’s Joyland English Medium High School and PUC from Sharada Independent PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are dancing, and reading books.
• Pradeep Mahadev Naik is from Bhatkal. He pursued his schooling from New English Medium School and PUC from Siddhartha PU College, Bhatkal. His hobbies are playing cricket and reading newspaper. He has participated in district level yoga competition.
• Sanjan Acharya K is from Ramakunja. He pursued his schooling from Indraprastha Vidyalya and PUC from Ambika Vidyalya. His hobbies are playing cricket and reading technical books.
• Arpita Mohan Shetty is from Murudeshwara. She pursued her schooling from RNS Vidyanikethan and PUC from RNS PU College, Murudeshwara. Her hobbies are reading novels, listening to music and dancing.
• Yusuf Rehab Mohammed is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Y.I.S., Riyadh and PUC from Prestige International School, Mangaluru. He is interested in playing games and participating in technical competitions etc.
• Nishith Shetty is from Bajpe. He pursued his schooling from St. Joseph High School, Bajpe and PUC from S.D.P.T PU College, Kateel. His hobbies are playing Football and Volleyball.
