Sahyadrians Recruited by Mindtree Limited

Sahyadrians-Recruited-by-Mindtree-Limited Fourteen Engineering students have been recruited by Mindtree Limited in the drive held on 30th Oct’19. Out of the 14 students recruited:
• Ms. Sushmika P R, Ms. Megha A, Ms. Jnana Shetty K, Ms. Poorna, Ms. Ananya K.R., Ms. Mahima M, and Ms. Saloni Fernandes, are students of Computer Science & Engineering.
• Mr. Nitin T, Mr. Ramananda H M, Mr. H Ashwin Prabhu and Ms. Usha B, are students of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• Ms. Ankita Savant, Ms. Swathi N S and Ms. Deepika R. are students of Information Science & Engineering.

Manager of Lars Enviro Pvt Ltd. visits Sahyadri

Manager of Lars Enviro Pvt Ltd. visits Sahyadri Mr. Dipu Varghese, Manager - Sales, Lars Enviro Pvt Ltd., an environmental management company in Nagpur, visited the campus for an expert advice on the bio-gas plant for maintenance of food waste, established in our campus.
Lars Enviro Pvt. Ltd. provides Environmental Services on Consultancy as well as Turnkey basis including Primary & Secondary Treatment, Sludge Management Systems, Bio-Fertilizing Systems and Storage Lagoons. The company also offers services from concept to commissioning.
Mr. Varghese interacted with Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director-R&D and Mr. Devdas Hegde, Trustee. They discussed about the reconditioning of the system for sustainable manner to enhance the performance of the plant. They also discussed about the requirement of sewage water treatment for recycling and reusing of treated water in the campus.

MBAs attended a session at CII, Mangaluru MBAs attended a session at CII, Mangaluru Five MBA students accompanied by Prof. Savita S Rai, Dept. of Business Administration and Dr. Anush Bekal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication attended a session on ‘Cyber Security & Business Analytics’ of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), held at Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) on 5th Nov'19. The session was delivered by Industry experts - Mr. Sandeep Kulkarni, Director-Cyber Security Sales at Valency Network and Mr. Rajesh Rajah, Founder of Willow Oak Networks.
CII is an industry-led industry-managed organisation. It works with the Government on policy issues. It has been a catalyst of change in India’s economic policy reforms.
Mr. Gaurav Hegde, Managing Director, G R Stones Specialities (P) Ltd; Mr. Ajith Kamath, President - KSIA, & Managing Director - Ajith Enterprises; and Mr. Mathew Ninan, Vice President, Semnox Solutions Pvt Ltd, were also present.
Apart from the above, noted dignitaries of Karnataka Zone, industry leaders and representatives from various institutes including students participated in the session.
The session mainly highlighted the various approaches for prevention of Cyber disaster along with real life examples and importance of business intelligence in today's challenging and competitive scenario.

MBA student wins 1st Runner-Up in Kannada Kogile Super Season organized by Colors Super ChannelMBA student wins 1st Runner-Up in Kannada Kogile Super Season organized by Colors Super Channel Ms. Akhila Pajimannu, 2nd year MBA student won 1st Runner-Up in ‘Kannada Kogile’ Super Season, a Musical Reality Show organized by Colors Super Channel produced by Sai Nirmala Productions.
Akhila was the first runner-up at Kannada Kogile Season 1 and was invited to participate in the Super Season along with the winners of various other Musical Reality Shows from all over the country. Post Mega audition, the show started with 15 contenders and Akhila reached Semi Finals along with 8 other talented singers. The Grand Finale had 4 Super singers and Akhila was awarded 1st Runner-Up by the Judges – Ms. Archana Udupa, Popular Singer - Graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan; Mr. Sadhu Kokila, Indian musician, Actor, Film Director and Producer and Mr. Chandan Shetty, Kannada Rapper, Lyricist and Playback singer who was crowned as the winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5.
During the course of the Reality show, Akhila was once gifted with a Gold Ring by Ms. Archana Udupa and Mr. Chandan Shetty gave away his favourite cap in appreciation for her flawless singing.
Akhila owes the achievement to her dear parents - Mr. Uday Kumar, an Agriculturist and Ms. Usha. She is grateful to Sahyadri MBA Department for encouraging her to pursue her passion along with the MBA course.

Introduction of the Mentor:

Prof. Harisha. has completed his M.Tech from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad with specialization in Wireless Communication and Computing, B.E from Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru and Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering from NRAMP, Nitte. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Machine Learning Area from VTU. His area of interest is Cybersecurity and Machine Learning. He is the author of various research articles. He has delivered guest lectures at various institutes. He has also guided many B.E. and M.Tech projects. He is associated with Sahyadri for the past 10 years.

Details of Mentees:
• Abhishek Pai P. is from Vittal. He completed his SSLC from Vittal Jaycees English Medium School,Vittal and PUC from Vivekananda Pre-University College, Puttur. He likes to play Cricket, Kabaddi and Badminton. His hobbies are listening to music, playing online mobile games and photography. He wants to become a good software developer and a game developer. He wishes to join his brother, in his venture to build more Indian games and publish them.
• Adithi V. Shetty is from Mangaluru. She completed her SSLC in BRMPC Public School, Bantwal and PUC in Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. She likes to sketch and paint. She wants to become a software developer.
• Deeksha S. Kunder is from Udupi. She completed her SSLC from Silas International School, Udupi and and PUC from Vidyodaya PU College, Udupi. She likes to draw. She wants to become a software developer.
• Akshay is from Raichur. He completed both of his SSLC and PUC from Sainik School, Kodagu, Kushalnagar. He is passionate about joining the defence forces and aspires to become an officer in Indian Navy. He was a runner up in English Debate and Declamation Competition. He was the School Mess Captain for the Academic Year 2018-19. He was also an MC for various competitions. He likes to play hockey and football. He is interested in Cyber security.
• Harshitha is from Mangaluru. She completed her SSLC from St. Joseph’s High School, Mangalore and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangalore. She likes to play hockey. She aspires to become a good software developer.
• Sanath Raj is from Udupi. He completed his SSLC in T.A. Pai High School and PUC from Poorna Prajna College, Udupi. He likes to listen to music and play badminton. He wants to be an aspiring programmer. He is also passionate about working as a data architect.
• Varshini is from Kasaragod. She has completed her SSLC from Sharada Vidyalaya and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. She likes to sing carnatic vocal music and play violin. She wants to become a software developer and a music composer.
