Director of Aarushi Infotech & Opel Consulting Pvt Ltd visits Sahyadri

Mr. Raghavendra H S, Director Aarushi Infotech and Opel visited Sahyadri. He met with Mr. Raghupathi Siddoji, Aptra Technologies Pvt Ltd and firstly expressed his desire to visit the in-house companies and startups, innovative labs and various student-centric initiatives. Aarushi Infotech & Opel Consulting is an IT services business. It performs custom software development, managed services and product development catering to customer requirements. It also deals in E- Governance Services, citizen-centric services in the field of operations and ITES.

Mr. Ragavendra interacted with the companies and start-ups regarding project, product and future skill. He appreciated the hands-on experience offered; skill development courses designed and the industry connect programmes provided to students. He was truly fascinated with the substantial infrastructure. He had words of praise for the unique education system established at Sahyadri

Awareness program on “Career Opportunities Overseas”

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with FLAMES (Fulfilling Aspirations of Mechanical Engineering Students) organised an awareness program on “Career Opportunities Overseas” for the pre-final year students on 7th Nov’19.

Mrs. Priya K. from Planet Education LLP addressed the students and gave an overview on career opportunities abroad for knowledge thirsty students. She gave essential information about the various types of courses available for higher education, types of competitive exams, preparation methods and availability of scholarship facility.

Mrs. Priya has rich experience of 15 years in strategic direction of higher education, including her present role as Branch & Operations Head of Planet Education, Karnataka.

Alumnus of MBA interacts with 2nd Year Marketing students on the topic “Retail Services and Fitness”

Students of 2nd Year Marketing were addressed by Mr. Kartish Shet, an Alumnus of Sahyadri. He is the Co-Founder of Zabt Fitness and authorized distributor for 3 Sisters.

Mr.Karthish Shet spoke to the students about his journey and how a dream turned out to be a profession. He stated that in order to have a successful business one needs to make sure that one has an unique symbol that represents one’s business, location of business and a thorough knowledge about target customers. He also explained the Recurring Revenue model, which he has successfully adopted in his business. Mr Shet concluded the session by suggesting that learners adapt a business plan which requires low investment and high income.
Mr. Karthish Shet gleefully states that his passion for fitness started from his school days. This same passion turned into a profession and drove him towards becoming what he is today - a Successful Entrepreneur. What people think should not bother you, be assertive go-getters, he stated. He motivated them to communicate effectively to ensure they reach the right audience.
He also answered various questions posed by the students on Govt. rules for licensing and funding etc.

Students of VII Semester Civil Engineering visit Marian Park, Construction Site

Students of VII Semester Civil Engineering visited the construction site of an ongoing 34-storey residential and commercial building ‘Marian Park’, at Kadri, Mangalore. The students interacted with the site engineers. They were briefed about the site plan of the project, geotechnical challenges involved in the execution of project, foundation details, RC detailing and interior designing specifications employed.

Er Anirudh Katpady, Project Manager, Marian Projects Mangalore and Er J. Devendra Shetty, Convenor, ACCEI, Mangalore Centre assisted the students during the site visit. The students were accompanied by Prof. Vijayalaxmi K and Prof. Anil Kumar N. S.

Introduction of the Mentor:
Mr. Mahadev U M is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Dept of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his B.E degree in Mechanical Engineering from PDA College of Engineering, Gulbarga and M.tech degree in Production Engineering and System Technology from UBDT College of Engineering, Davangere. He is currently pursuing Ph.D from VTU Belagavi in the area of Production of Aluminium Metal Foams. He has 6 years of teaching experience and he is with Sahyadri since last 5 years. He has published 6 journals. His research interests are Composite Materials, Production Engineering and Machining Processes.

• Ashwin Hegde B is from Puttur. He pursued his schooling from Vivekananda School and studied PUC at Vivekananda PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are swimming and playing football. He aspires to join any of the core mechanical industries like Tata Motors.
• Shobith R Kava is from Bantwal. He pursued his schooling fromVittal Jaycees English Medium School and studied PUC at Canara PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing volleyball and kabbadi. He is interested to join any of the core mechanical industries like JSW, or Toyota.
• Tilak is from Kasargod. He pursued his schooling from Sharada Vidhyaniketan Public School, and studied PUC at Sharada Vidhyaniketan PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing cricket and reading magazines. His aspiration is to join a marine company like Anglo Eastern.
• Hazim is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Kanachur Public School and studied PUC at St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are photography and dancing. His aspiration is to work in a software company.
• Sathwik H is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Vidyayini E H School and studied PUC at Govindas PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing football and listening to songs. He aspires to become a successful engineer and serve society.
