A Meeting held on Various Achievable Goals for CoE in AL and ML
Dr. Pushpalatha, Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering called for a Meeting on 25 Nov’2020, to discuss the various aspects of Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to achieve the objectives.
Following conclusions were made during the Meeting:
• Weekly meetings to share knowledge among the faculty from different streams;
• Installing an Idea Board in the CoE to share knowledge;
• Identification of problem statements related to Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Smart City related problems like Traffic Management, Power/Energy Management etc.;
• Support students for the projects with identified problems, which could lead to publications, patents, and products;
• Identification of domain based experts/interested faculty and forming interdisciplinary teams for each sector and splitting the work on the basis of domain expertise;
• Designing a web portal for CoE -AL & Ml and hosting the problems;
• Supporting to write project proposals for different funding agencies; and
• Defining rules for collaboration with other institutes, professors, industries.
Apart from Dr. Pushpalatha K., Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Rajesh S., Principal and Dr. Nalini Elizabeth Rebello, Dean-Academics were present.
Faculty members namely Dr. Ravichandra K.R., & Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering; Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and others shared their views in the Meeting.
Dean-Strategic Planning Appointed in the NSS Award Selection Committee of Mangalore University
Prof. Ramesh K.G., Dean-Strategic Planning has been appointed in the Mangalore University NSS Award Selection Committee to select nominees for the State and National level NSS Awards for the Year 2019-20 by NSS Coordinator, Mangalore University.
Prof. Ramesh was the recipient of 'Indira Priyadarshini National Level Best NSS Volunteer' for the Year 1996-97 and also adjudged State Level Best NSS Volunteer twice i.e. in the year 1992-93 and 1996-97.

The above questions and more are defining a connected generation. Today’s teenagers have grown up in a world dominated by that device at the end of their wrists, but it does not have to run or consume their days.
There is a biological adaptation that our body experiences when the television sets and smartphones are switched off. Breathing patterns change and the stress & anxiety levels begin to reduce. The edge of depression rounds off a bit and we “return” back to ourselves.
