Dr. Abdul Sharief takes over as Chairman, Research Consortium of Mangalore Zone
Dr. S. A. Khan, Principal, Beary’s Institute of Technology, handed over chairmanship of the Research Consortium to Dr. Abdul Sharief, Principal, P. A. College of Engineering. Dr. Khan will take over as Principal, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and was the Founder-Chairman of the Research Consortium. The consortium formed with the aim of promoting research culture among the coastal cluster of Engineering colleges coming under the Mangalore zone, has been instrumental in promoting awareness and importance of research among academicians. Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal and Prof. M. N. Nayak, Administrator & Dean Placement of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, and Prof. Sudesh Bekal , NITTE College of Engineering were present on the occasion.
Sahyadrians Highest Selected in Infosys Recruitment Drive
 49 students of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management were the highest selected candidates by Infosys Ltd. out of 143 shortlisted candidates of P. A. College of Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, St. Aloysius College, KVG College of Engineering, Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, MITE, Shree Devi College of Engineering, and Canara Engineering College. Mr. Arjun Pai, Senior Lead, Talent Acquisition, Ms. Laxmi and Mr. Neil Rodrigues of the HR team of Infosys Ltd. were some of the panelists on the recruiting team of Infosys.

 Rohan Sunil, Semester I, Electronics and Communication Engineering, is an upcoming athlete. He has participated and bagged many prizes in Football Tournaments held at the School and Taluk level. He won the Winner’s Trophy at the Inter College Football Tournament. He has also won the third prize in Inter School 200mtr Race, Runners trophy at the Cluster Football Tournament and also at the Inter School Football Tournament.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
The inaugural function of the three-day International Conference on Agribusiness Management – Opportunities and Challenges, organised by the Department of Business Administration, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, from the 9th of October to the 11th of October 2014 will be held at 4:00 P. M. in the Seminar Hall, ground floor. University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, are supporting this conference as knowledge partner. An entertainment programme by the students for the delegates will be held from 6:30 P.M. to 7.30 P.M. near the Food Court.
Dr. G. Parameshwara, MLC, President, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee will inaugurate the Conference, Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director, Agribusiness Centre, MANAGE, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, will be the Keynote Speaker and Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation will preside over the inaugural function. Around 200 delegates including 60 international delegates from 10 countries are expected to participate in this programme.
