Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration
Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration was held at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangalore. Floral tributes were given to the Father of the Nation by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal, Prof. Umashankar B S, Dean Academics, Department Heads and other Management Staffs along with students.
SSTH Zonal Event held at Govinda Dasa P. U. COLLEGE
SSTH Zonal event was held at Govinda Dasa P.U. College, Surathkal. Ms. Laxmi P, Principal, Govinda Dasa P. U. College was the Chief Guest of the formal function . In her speech, she thanked Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management for organising an event like SSTH which gives a forum to younger generation to exhibit their talent.
Ms. Madhu Jali, Department of Physics, Canara P. U. College, Mangaluru, Ms. Vathsala M ,Department of Physics, Govinda Dasa P. U. College, Surathkal and Mr. Sharath Kumar, Assistant Professor, P. G. Centre of Chemistry, Govinda Dasa P. U. College, Surathkal were the judges of the programme. Ms. Suchetha and Ms. Sunita D’Silva, Department of Mathematics, were the co-ordinators of Sahyadri Zonal event.
The event had seen sixty nine participants and it is worth mentioning that six projects were selected for funding.

Faculty Member Successfully Defends PhD Thesis
 Prof. Jayanna Veeranna Gorabal, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering has successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Multimodal Biometric Approaches to Handle Privacy and Security Issues in RFID Technology” at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur. The research work was guided by Dr. Manjaiah .D.H, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Mangalore University, Mangalagangotri, Mangaluru.
