Achievements of First year Engineering Students at NIT, Warangal

Seventeen students of first year engineering participated in Technozion, a Two-Day annual Technical Symposium organized by the student fraternity of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal during 28th to 29th of September 2018
Below is the list of their achievements at the fest:
• Line Follower Event: 4th and 7th place out of 38 Teams
• Hovercraft Event: 8th place out of 50 Teams
• Trust Event: 8th place out of 50 teams

RDL identified for product showcase at NASSCOM Conclave 2018

NASSCOM Conclave 2018 is a synonym for disruptive technology, innovation, entrepreneurial ecosystem and networking opportunity. RDL is one of the few companies that NASSCOM identified for product showcase at this prestigious event. This conclave not only helped RDL in generating prospective leads but has also helped to benchmark the solutions and capabilities. Mr. Sandeep and Mr. Pradeep from RDL participated in the two daylong event showcasing the SCADA based Open Platform Datalogger and Cloud-PLC Solutions.

The take-away from this event was a good list of prospective customers, promising use cases and confidence that RDL stands tall among the best in the industry in terms of technology adoption, innovation and service models. RDL looks forward to convert opportunities to business and transform RDL to full-fledged Product Company in the IoT Space.

Day Three at India Mobile Congress 2018 in New Delhi

Day Three at IMC 2018 started with Special Sessions on 5G mainly based on Government Perspective, Operators' Perspective and OEM perspective led by Shri Manoj Sinha (Hon’ble Minister of State for Communication); Mr Ajith Pai (Chairman | U.S. Federal Communication Commision); Smt. Aruna Sundararajan (Secy. & Chairperson, Telecom Commission, Govt. of India); Ms Cathryn Ross (Chief Regulatory Officer | BT) and Mr. Rajan S Mathews (Director General | COAI). There was also a special session on Live Demo of 5G led by Mr. Mischa Dohler (Professor at King’s College London).

The representatives also got an opportunity to talk to Shri Manoj Sinha (Hon’ble Minister of State for Communication) about the Dream Kit. A pitching session for Start-ups was held in the afternoon where the top 3 winners would procure a grant of upto 50 Lakhs and mentoring support from IIM-Ahmedabad. DTi Labz was shortlisted along with many other companies. The students representing DTi labz, got an opportunity to pitch their Product i.e Dream Kit, in front of an esteemed jury comprising of the CEO of IMC 2018, Mr Randeep Raina (Head of Technology, Nokia) and Mr P Balaji (Chief Regulatory and Corporate Affairs officer, Vodafone Idea Limited). The efforts of the students were commended by many in the Karnataka Pavilion and promised support via their networks. The DTi labz booth was visited by many delegates, students and media personnel who immensely appreciated the product for its simplicity. With that the India Mobile Congress 2018 came to an end.

Members of Sahyadri Toastmasters club participate in the Division Premier League Championship of Public speaking

The Division Premier League Championship of Public speaking for the Toastmasters of Division F was conducted at the Sahyadri campus. All the twelve clubs of the Division participated in the competition. The events included a Tall Tales competition - a competition centred around speeches laced with humour that framed the improbable into reality; a Relay competition - a speech competition with two participants taking turns to weave fabric from random words or phrases: and a Crisis Management competition - a competition in which a team of three debated a crisis provided to them and came up with a plausible strategy to deal with it.

The Sahyadri Toastmasters Club participated in full enthusiasm and determination. They received certificates of participation. Overall prize was bagged by Porttown Advanced Toastmasters club who are the mentors of Sahyadri Toastmasters Club. It was a great learning experience for the members in building their communication skills and public speaking.

Research Scholar pursuing PhD under the guidance of Dr. S. Manjappa has completed VIVA Examination

Mr. M Shivakumar is pursuing PhD on the title – “Green synthesis of metal Nanoparticles (Ag,Au,Pd and Pt) Using pre-hydrolysis liquor (PHL) and their electro-chemical and biological applications” under the guidance of Dr. S. Manjappa, Director of Research and Consultancy of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore and Dr. M. S. Dharmaprakash, Professor, Department of Chemistry, BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. Dr. C Shivakumar from IISC Bangalore and HOD of Chemistry BMS College of engineering Dr. Keerthy Agraewal were the external examiners of the VIVA examination.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Semnox Solutions Private Limited

Semnox Solutions Private Limited conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive at Sahyadri for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. A Four-member recruitment team, headed by Ms. Aysha - Project Lead, Implementation & Support were at the campus to facilitate the recruitment process. A total of 218 students from pool colleges participated in the drive and the results are awaited.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

CodeCraft Technologies, Mangalore is visiting Sahyadri to conduct a Pool Campus recruitment drive for the Computer Science and Information Science engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch.
