Sahyadri College Organizes Blood Donation Camp in commemoration of Rastriya Ekta DiwasSahyadri College Organizes Blood Donation Camp in commemoration of Rastriya Ekta Diwas Sahyadri College NSS Unit in association with KMC hospital and HDFC Bank organized Blood Donation Camp in commemoration of Rastriya Ekta Diwas. The programme began with a formal inaugural. Dr. Deepa Adiga, Director, KMC blood Bank, Mangalore and Mr Manoj Puthran, Branch Operations Manager, HDFC Bank were the chief guests for the programme. Dr. Srinivas Rao Kunte, Principal, presided over the programme. Mrs. Shreelatha U.A., Academic Administrative Officer spoke about the rationale of the programme. As an observation of Rastriya Ekta Diwas, Vice Principal, Prof S.S. Balakrishna led the audience through the Oath for Unity. Dr. Deepa Adiga addressed the students about the importance of blood donation, the eligibility to be a donor and the health benefits of donating blood. Mr Manoj spoke to the students and appreciated the students’ participation in this noble cause. Dr. Srinivas Rao Kunte in his presidential address spoke a few words about the Rastriya Ekta Diwas. On this occasion students from every class took the Oath of Unity. It gives us immense joy to mention that more than 200 students volunteered for blood donation during the camp.

Dr. Premanand Shenoy of the Department of Civil Engineering has been appointed as the Board of Education (BOE) Member of the Civil Engineering Department in VTU, Belagavi for the Academic Year 2018-2019.


Civil Engineering Student receives DETI @ NIDHI PRAYAS grant

Ms. Deepika C.N. a 3rd Semester student of Civil Engineering received a grant of INR 60,000/- to carry out a project entitled "Peizo Electric Roads for Sustenance." Ms. Deepika had presented her project proposal at Adhyaman Engineering College, Hosur, Tamilnadu and the same received a grant from DET @ Nidhi Prayas.

National Initiative for Developing & Harnessing Innovation (NIDHI), promotes acceleration of young and aspiring innovators and PRAYAS programme supports young innovators turn their ideas into proof concepts.

Further, if Ms. Deepika succeeds in her project work, she would be facilitated with an additional INR 35 Lakhs as an extension grant and would be sent to Israel to carry out further works.

Ms. Deepika is guided by Dr. Suresh Babu and Prof. Sunil Kumar K. in this project.

2. First place in upto 55 kg category – Ms. Deeksha P., a student of First Year MBA.

Felicitation for Sahyadri Alumna

Felicitation for Sahyadri Alumna The Department of Mechanical Engineering felicitated Ms. Ramya, an Alumna of 2016 Batch. Ms. Ramya has been selected as Assistant Mechanical Engineer at Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

Prof. Ravichandra, Head of the Department, Mr. Vaishak N.L. and Mr. Suhas, Faculty, Department of Mechanical Engineering visited KSRTC Depot and carried out the felicitation. Ms. Ramya assured all assistance towards the Industry Connect and gave valuable input to the NBA process. She thanked Sahyadri for nurturing her technical, personality and communication skills during her student life in Sahyadri.

Seven Sahyadrians recruited by Manipal Group

Seven Sahyadrians recruited by Manipal Group Sarvotham, Mohammad Arif, Preetham, Tilak Naik, and Jonathan Adriel Rodrigues from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Prajwali T and Chaithan from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering have been recruited by Manipal Group in the recently held campus recruitment drive for the 2019 outgoing batch.


Sahyadrians recruited by Epitas Software LLP

Sahyadrians recruited by Epitas Software LLP Greeshma Chandran, Parayil Mithula Prakash & Anu D from the department of Civil Engineering and B. Mohammed Adil from the department of Mechanical Engineering have been recruited for the position of Lidar Engineer by Epitas Software LLP, Mangalore in the recently held campus recruitment drive for the 2019 outgoing batch. The package offered is Rs. 2 Lakhs per annum.


Campus Recruitment Drive - CodeCraft

Campus Recruitment Drive - CodeCraft CodeCraft Technologies, Mangalore visited Sahyadri to conduct a Pool Campus recruitment drive for computer Science Engineering and Information Science Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. Ms. Likitha - HR Generalist, from the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the process. The results are awaited.
This company was facilitated by Mr. Roshan Shetty from Aptra.

Upcoming events

MRPL-Sahyadri Inter Professional Collegiate Debates Competition 2018 will be held in the Sahyadri campus on Friday, 2nd November 2018. The theme of the debate competition is “Eradicate Corruption - Build a new India”. Students from professional colleges of Medicine, Dental, Pharma, Engineering and Management will engage in a battle of words.
