Sahyadrians recruited by IBM India

A total of 35 Sahyadrians were recruited by IBM-India in the campus recruitment drive held on 22nd Sept' 2019 for 2020 outgoing batch. The recruitment was for the position of Associate Technical Engineer with a package of 4.25 Lakhs per annum.

Fifteen students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Fourteen students from the Department of Information Science & Engineering and Six Students from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering got selected.

Sahyadrians recruited by Robosoft Technologies

Ms. Sonali S Kumar, Ms. Grishma Rao and Mr. P S Subramanya Bhat, students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Ms. Sushmitha B S, student from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering were recruited by Robosoft Technologies. The campus recruitment drive was held on 28th Sept’19 for 2020 outgoing batch for the position of Trainee Software Engineer.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Introduction of the Mentor:
Dr. J V Gorabal is the Head and Professor at the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering. He is an academician with 22 years of teaching experience. He worked as the Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering at RL Jalappa Institute of Technology, Doddaballapura. He also worked as a lecturer in Department of Computer Applications at Basaveshwar Engineering College,Bagalkot. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Karnataka University Dharwad and Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from VTU, Belagavi. He completed his Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapura (AP) in the field of Computer Science & Engineering. He is active in professional bodies like Computer Society of India and Indian Society for Technical Education. His fields of interests are Image processing & Biometric security. He is associated with Sahyadri since 2011. He is passionate about teaching and mentor students to fulfill their dreams for better society and a better India.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Joel D’Souza pursued his SSLC from Joylland School and completed his PUC at Saint Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing games and solving puzzles. He aspires to become Software Developer.
• Harshith pursued his SSLC and PUC from S.V.S Temple English Medium School & S.V.S PU College, Bantwal. His hobbies are playing football and coding. He aspires to become Entrepreneur in the field of Software development.
• Akshay Shetty pursued his SSLC from S.D.M English Medium School, Ujire and PUC from Ambika PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are coding and photography. His aspiration is to become software developer.
• Sumanth pursued is SSLC in English Medium school, Naggor, and PUC from R.N. Shetty PU College, Kundapur. His hobby is playing cricket. His aspiration is to become software Engineer.
• Vinutha N pursued her SSLC in GHS School Kallongala, Kepu and PUC from Govt. PU College, Puttur. Her hobbies are listening to music, reading books. Her aspiration is to become software engineer.
• Dhanush pursued his SSLC from St Aloysius high school and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are drawing and photography. His aspiration is to become Data security Engineer.

Rules to be followed:
• For 1st year students; SSLC, PUC Marks card & CET admission Order copy should be verified at Admission section.
• For Higher semester students, SSLC & CET admission Order copy should be verified at Academic section.
• Previous Two Semester Marks card should be verified at Exam section.
• Fee receipt should verified at Establishment office (Finance Officer).
• Aadhaar Card, Ration card, Bank Pass Book (Canara Bank), Income certificate and Caste certificate should be produced in original for verification at Scholarship section.

Students are advised to follow the schedule displayed in Scholarship Notice board for submission of scholarship application forms & verification at Scholarship Section, in order to avoid last minute changes.

• Shri. Raj Kiran Rai G , MD & CEO of Union Bank Of India will be visiting Sahyadri
Shri. Rajkiran Rai G, Managing Director & CEO of Union Bank of India will be visiting Sahyadri & interacting with MBA students on 12th Oct’19 . Born on 19th May, 1962, Shri Rajkiran Rai G is an agricultural science graduate. He has more than three decades of rich banking experience including heading Industrial Finance Branch, Regions and Zonal Offices. Prior to his elevation as Managing Director & CEO, he was heading an important positions as Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce and General Manager of Mumbai Zone of Central Bank of India. He is certified member of Indian Institute of Bankers and was also serving on the Board of Canara HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Co. Ltd.

• Inaugural Ceremony of Sahyadri Student Council 2019-20
Mr. Abhinandan Shetty, Former District Governor, Rotary International will be inaugurating Sahyadri Student Council on 12th Oct’19. Mr. Abhinandan Shetty is the Managing Director of Fort Gate Holiday Homes, Kundapur and the Chairman of Fort Gate Education Trust. He acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Interdepartmental studies from Schiller International University, France and MBA in International Business from Schiller International University, London, U.K. Mr. Abhinandan is actively involved in the Rotary International and is a regular resource person at various leadership workshops at the National & International event.
