Gandhi Jayanthi and Shastri Jayanthi Celebrated in the Campus – ‘Swacch Sahyadri’

On 2nd Oct’19, NSS unit of Sahyadri celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi and Shastri Jayanthi and organized ‘Swacch Sahyadri’ as a part of the event.
The speakers for the formal programme were Prof. Gurusiddah, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Prof. Dr. Premanand Shenoy, Dept. of Civil Engineering. The programme started with a Bhajan- ‘Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram’. The dignitaries offered flowers to the portrait of Gandhiji and Shastriji. Prof. Gurusiddah, while addressing the gathering, remembered his childhood days and shared some of the memorable instances and concluded his talk with a quote of Gandhiji – “Where there is Love, there is Life”.
Prof. Dr. Premanand Shenoy, Dept. of Civil Engineering, shared his thoughts on the life story of Gandhiji and Shastriji. He also reminded young minds of the power of non-violence. He concluded his talk by remembering the contribution of farmers. Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal felicitated the programme. Ms. Shreelatha U A, AAO, concluded the programme by appreciating the efforts of NSS unit and expressed her words of gratitude.

Director - Operations & Technology, EVERI along with his team visited Sahyadri

Mr. Manikandan Subramanian, Director- Operations & Technology, EVERI along with his team member Mr. Suresh, Lead of Mangaluru visited Sahyadri on 1st Oct’19. Mr. Nithin Shetty, a well-known Chartered Accountant in Mangaluru, who is a well-wisher of Sahyadri family since its inception had also accompanied them.

Students attend 50th Concluding Swacch Soch Seminar

The students of Information Science and Mechanical Engineering attended 50th concluding Swacch Soch Seminar on the theme Swacch Bharat - Samarth Bharat on Tuesday, 1st Oct’19. Two Hundred students participated in the seminar. The seminar had 4 sessions based on the theme of Swacch Bharath facilitated by eminent resource persons like Captain Ganesh Karnik, Prof. K Raghothama Rao, Dr Ananth Prabhu G and Mr Ranjan Bellarpady.

MBA Faculty invited as a Resource Person at Rathinam Autonomous Institution in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu

Dr. Sharan Kumar Shetty, Professor, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA was invited as a Resource Person for the Rathinam Autonomous Institution in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Dr. Shetty delivered a talk on the "Foundation to Innovation - A thought for the Techno Leaders". The target audience were the B.Tech engineering students of Data Science and Cloud computing branches. He has highlighted on the role of techno leaders in the contemporary world.

IEEE Day Celebration

The IEEE Student Branch of Sahyadri celebrated IEEE Day on 1st Oct’19. During the formal function, Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal addressed the gathering and stated the history of IEEE community, stressed on the usage of technology for the better tomorrow and also encouraged the students to join IEEE community.
Dr. J V Gorabal, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering; Dr. Shamanth Rai, IEEE Student Branch Counsellor, IEEE SB student members and third year Information Science & Engineering students were present during the event.

MBA Faculty attend PRAXIS8, a Public Relations And Corporate Communications India Summit 2019

Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA, Prof. Samarth Shenoy and Prof. Sushma V from the Dept. of Business Administration-MBA attended PRAXIS8 held in Grand Hyatt, Goa during 27th to 29th Sep’19. This is an annual event which hosts more than 700 Public Relations Practitioners especially at Managerial Levels including the CEO’s and VP’s. Faculty had an opportunity to interact with the professionals and invite them to the campus in order to strengthen Industry-Academia interface.

The two-day event included Speeches of Inspiration, Power Talks, Power Panel by Globally renowned Experts and Felicitations for the PR Practitioners and PR firms.
