NSS Unit and UBA of Sahyadri organises a Webinar on “Awareness of National Education Policy 2020 for Faculty”

A Webinar on “Awareness of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for Faculty” was conducted by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and National Service Scheme of Sahyadri on 9 Oct’2020. The objective of the Webinar is to bring awareness about NEP 2020 for the primary and secondary schools as well as higher education institutes.
Ms. Shreelatha U.A., NSS Program Officer and Co-organiser introduced the keynote speaker and the resource persons. Dr. Rajesha S., Principal presented the Keynote address highlighting the salient features of NEP 2020 and how it is beneficial to India.
This was followed by three sessions on NEP. Dr. F. Jyothi Serrao, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Physics led the session and spoke about NEP 2020 for Primary Education; Dr. Savitha M.B., HoD and Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry spoke on NEP2020 for Secondary Education and Dr. Navin Bappalige, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Physics spoke on NEP2020 for Higher Education. The Webinar was brought to a conclusion with an exhaustive Q&A session.
About 58 faculty members from primary and secondary schools, and higher education institutes participated in the Webinar.
About NEP 2020:
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a visionary policy for bringing a new education system in India. NEP 2020 replaces our country’s previous education policy namely National Policy on Education 1986. The objective of the new Education Policy is to transform education system by 2030.

NAIN along with DTlabz and SHINE conducts SOCIOTHON 2020 – A Virtual Hackathon

The New Age Innovation Network (NAIN) Center in collaboration with Make Room India, The Startupreneur along with DTlabz and Sahyadri Hub for Innovations and Entrepreneurship (SHINE) are conducting SOCIOTHON 2020, an ongoing virtual Hackathon wherein students have to come up with solutions for the societal problems focusing on sectors like Health, Agriculture, Educational, Environmental, Fisheries, and Ideas for SDGs.
The Hackathon focuses more on enabling college students to experiment with social innovation, explore projects to build for their community problems, and promote a culture of Innovation in their day-to-day lives. It is a further attempt to bring Creative Minds together, Upskill, learn New Technologies and develop an Entrepreneurial Mindset - use critical thinking to enhance their Career prospects.
In the next month, participating students will undergo specially designed workshops, gain perspectives on how they can be a part of the solutions and network with industry mentors.
