SPACE Student Association Inaugurated for the Academic Year 2015-16
Sahyadri Pupils Association of Civil Engineering (SPACE) for the academic year 2015-16 was inaugurated by Er. Ujwal D'Souza, CEO, Marian Projects Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru. In his inaugural speech he spoke about the mantra for success. The inauguration was followed by a technical talk on ' Career Opportunities for Civil Engineers'.
Prof. Purushotham C.T, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering. Ms. Kavyashree M.P, SPACE Coordinator presented a report of SPACE activities for the academic year 2015-16. Mr. Ajith T, President of SPACE gave the vote of thanks.

Day 2: Induction Programme for New Entrants to the MBA Course
Session 1 of day-2 of the Induction Programme for the new entrants to the MBA course 2015-2017 was delivered by Mr. Prabodh Sirur, Vice President - HR, Manipal Technologies Pvt. Ltd. He spoke on "Preparing the students for the Corporate Journey". He encouraged students to identify what success and happiness means to them as the definition is different for every individual. He shared the success story of eminent personalities and stimulated the students to develop competencies such as legal skills, two-way communication skills, negotiation skills, decision making skills, etc.
Students were provoked to put on their thinking caps to suggest the ideal solution to a case study on management he shared with them. He stressed on the need to be different from others in this competitive era. He also explained to the students that they are in their transformation phase and they have to be extraordinary to be successful. He concluded by stating that every individual should plan to succeed, prepare to succeed and expect to succeed.
Session 2 was delivered by Mr. Ravish Kumar, Regional Manager, HDFC Bank. He gave an insight into the various opportunities open to MBA graduates in the finance and banking domain. He highlighted that there is huge talent acquisition in e-commerce companies and hence students should thoroughly do a SWOT analysis at the beginning of the course which shall place them in the stream they are passionate about. He encouraged students to go for 'Start-Ups' by narrating success stories of entrepreneurs. He concluded by motivating the students to dream and work towards their dream
Session 3 was conducted by Mr. Abhijit, Managing Partner & Marketing Head, VIBRANT MINDS on "Personality Development for Professional Excellence". This session was activity based which not only imparted management lessons but also contributed to the personal grooming of the new entrants and made them acquainted to public speaking and interpersonal communication which is critical to any management trainee.
