Flautist Pandit Rupak Kulkarni Hindustani Musical Concert at Sahyadri
Flautist Pandit Rupak Kulkarni in association with the SPIC MACAY, Mangalore Chapter gave a Hindustani musical concert in the Campus mesmerizing the audience with his musical flavor and unique creativity. The future musicians of Sahyadri were deeply touched by the soothing rhythm and the audience greatly appreciated the concert and the finesse of the flautist.
Pandit Rupak Kulkarni has had the privilege to be the disciple of the great flautist Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Pandit Rupak Kulkarni, has given this “Maihar Gharana” tradition a brand new flavour with his unique creativity. Where others have performed ragas, Rupak has recreated ragas. Rupak with arduous training and hard work has mastered Dhrupad, Khayal and Tantrakari styles equally well. No wonder his concerts are loved and lauded not only by common music lovers but even by connoisseurs and music maestros such as Pt. Ravishankar and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. He has performed in major music festivals in international concerts as well as in India. His flute concerts are regularly aired on All India Radio, World Space Radio and various TV channels such as Doordarshan, STAR TV, Zee TV, and CNN-IBN, and In Sync. He has worked with many Hollywood and Bollywood music directors to score background music for their films.
SPIC MACAY is an affirmation of the need to conserve and promote an awareness of the rich cultural tapestry of India among the youth, through focus on the classical arts with its rituals, mythology and philosophy and to facilitate an appreciation of their deeper values. Janatics India Private Ltd. Visits Sahyadri
Mr. Subramanya Bhat - AGM - Marketing and Mr. K. Ganapathy Subramaniam - Head - Applications & Training from Janatics India Private Ltd. visited the campus and interacted with the Management and the faculty members to explore the possibilities of setting up the hands on experience lab in the institution equivalent to that of the industry so as to make the students excel in their future careers.
Final Day of the Induction Program for New Entrants to the MBA Course
On the third and final day of the Induction programme for the new entrants to the MBA course 2015-17, the first session was engaged by Mr. Ramani Venkat, Director- Sales, Vanaaz Solutions, Bangalore. His session was a participatory learning process in which concepts such as self-discovery, attitude & ego management, goal setting and team building were included.
Ms. Rashmi Bhandary, Placement Head, addressed the students in the second session of the day on the importance of pursuing additional internships and also stimulated the students to take up part-time jobs that would enhance their employability at the end of the MBA course. They were informed about the benchmark of semester marks expected by the hiring companies.
Prof. Radhakrishna, MGM College, Udupi, addressing the students in the third session encouraged the students to take this course as a transformational course. Change is the need of the hour and they should be ready to face any challenge in life which in turn is an opportunity to innovate and excel in life as well as career.
Civil Engineering Students Visit a Construction Site
Students of the final year of the Department of Civil Engineering visited 'Marian Park' near Kadri which is a construction site owned and being executed by Marian Projects Pvt. Ltd. The students gathered knowledge about scaffolding and form work and had fruitful and insightful interactions with the project manager Er. Anirudh Rao Katapadi and his team at the site.
