Induction Programme for the MBA New Entrants Commences in the Campus
A six-day Induction Programme for the New Entrants to the MBA course for the year 2016 - 2018 Batch commenced in the Campus.
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director, Department of Business Administration welcoming the students gave an insight about the Sahyadri MBA programme and also introduced the core faculty members of the department.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Vaikunt R Prabhu, Co-Founder & Director, LIGA Edu Tech Pvt. Ltd shared effective tips on how the students should groom themselves in the two years to a level that is expected by corporate organisations. During his session he urged the students to create their dream and nurture it. He highlighted on the core competencies students need to develop during their course of study. He emphasised that Communication Skills, Study Skills, Entrepreneurial Skills, Management Skills, Career Management Skills and Interpersonal Skills are the need of the hour. He encouraged them to remove their shyness, be regular and attentive in class, Network with people, Volunteer to address the skill gap, Be Original and not replicate and also be an all-rounder.
Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal in his presidential address, mentioned that “Education should be a window to the outside world” and that students should go hand in hand with the corporate expectations. He urged them not to study MBA but live MBA. He also stated that greatest education is learning to unlearn and re-learn and look at life in a holistic approach which should aim at acquiring knowledge in all domains of MBA. He concluded his speech by saying – “Live MBA every moment”. Prof. Lokesh made the students well-acquainted with the VTU curriculum. Prof. Girish M and Prof. Ramesh KG shared the key aspects of Placements at Sahyadri and its rules and regulations.
