Orientation Programme for second year Computer Science & Engineering students

Orientation Programme A Three-Day orientation programme for the second year Computer Science & Engineering students commenced today. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal. He enlightened the students on the significance of holistic approach in engineering studies through his inaugural speech. Dr. J V Gorabal, Dean Academics provided an insight to the technological growth in computer science field. Prof. Sudheer Shetty, Head of Computer Science & Engineering department gave an overview of the workshop.

Sahyadrians recruited by Moonraft Innovation Labs

Sahyadrians recruited by Moonraft Innovation Labs Ravi Yadav, Sanath R Kashyap ,Pavithree B Shetty ,Linford Royan and Suhas B S from the department of Information Science & Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering have been selected by Moonraft Innovation Labs in the recently held campus recruitment drive with a package of 8 LPA. Moonraft is an innovation and design firm. They advance human experience through design- driven innovation. Their Global partners are Adobe, UST Global, Infosys, Finacle, Mindtree and TVS.

RDL Technologies Pvt Ltd in the top 100 innovative start-ups recognized by Government of Karnataka through ELEVATE 100 programme

RDL Technologies Pvt Ltd in the top 100 innovative start-ups recognized by Government of Karnataka through ELEVATE 100 programme The State Government picked up 100 most innovative start-ups after following through a four-layered selection process. These startups will get a funding support of about Rs 35 crore from the government to pursue their tech-ideas and scale them up.

When the final leg of selection process began at Hotel Lalit Ashok, there were 270 startups vying for these top 100 slots. The jury finalized the list of most innovative startups. The contest saw the participation of more than 1700 startups from across Karnataka and RDL Technologies was selected in the 100 innovative start-ups under the able mentoring and guidance of Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation.

The ELEVATE 100 roadshow has traversed the length and breadth of Karnataka in a rigorous hunt to pick the 100 most innovative start-ups and help them turn their ideas into successful businesses. The short-listed startups will have access to the government’s start-up fund besides access to government VC funds, pilots, private VC funds, world class accelerators and mentors, the IT department said in a press release.

Information Technology & Tourism Minister Mr. Priyank Kharge said: “The efforts of the Karnataka government doesn't stop at elevating the chosen 100. We see ELEVATE 100 as a continuing process where the best ideas from the state gets the support and guidance it deserves”. The award was received by the Chairman and Mr. Raghav Shetty, CEO, RDL Technologies on the occasion.

Of the 100 startups finalized, 27 are from electronic semiconductor design, 19 from life sciences, 11 each from biotech, agri tech, four each from animation and gaming, and clean tech, and 26 from IT/ITES. There are also 19 startups founded by women entrepreneurs and 11 from rural areas.
