MBA Faculty conduct Placement Workshop at Canara College, Mangaluru
As a community initiative & to contribute to the nation’s talent reservoir, Prof. Ramesh K G & Prof. Sushma V along with students from the Dept. of Business Administration conducted Placement Workshop for the final year degree students of Canara College, Mangaluru in two batches of 150 each. The Workshop focussed on Resume Writing, Group Discussion (GD) Round of Interview & Face to Face Round of Interview.
Students were apprised on the components of a Resume and also the DO’s and DONT’s in a Resume. Few of the resumes were evaluated and feedback was given on how it could be further improvised to suit the needs of the recruiters. Rounds of Group Discussion were held on the current scenarios and feedback was given with tips on how they could enhance their performance in a GD Round of interview. Further, top 10 frequently asked questions in a Face to Face interview were addressed with assistance on how best they could start their preparations to meet the expectations of the recruiter in their final round of interview. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Prashanth, Head – Career Guidance & Placement Cell, Canara College, Mangaluru. Students have appreciated the workshop and have now approached Sahyadri to conduct Training on MS Office which would be organized at Sahyadri soon.

Teacher’s Day Celebration
As they say, it’s the teacher that makes the difference, not the classroom – Students took out time to wish their favourite educators on this Teacher’s Day.
The day started with showering flowers on Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan's photo frame and seeking his blessings for the future ventures. Though the institution is divided by branches, all celebrated this auspicious day as one team by inviting the teaching and non-teaching staff. Mr. Jagannath Chouta, Trustee addressed the gathering and inspired all with his valuable words. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal and Dr. J V Gorabal, Dean Academics was also present during the celebration.
Civil engineering student declared as Champion in “Total Combat Fighting Championship 2017”
 Mr. Ankush R Bhandary, fifth semester student of Civil Engineering Department has been declared as champion in 63-67kg Muay Thai Fight in “Total Combat Fighting” championship held in Dadar, Mumbai.
The Muay Thai is an art of 8 limbs originally from Thailand where people use 8 joints of the body to hurt their opponent. It’s a proud moment for Sahyadri and the Department of Civil Engineering heartily congratulates him for his achievement..
Sahyadri Site visit by Civil Engineering students
The Department of Civil Engineering conducted site visit for the fifth semester students in Sahyadri Campus. Students visited the Open Stadium Pavilion construction site. Prof. Manohar & Prof. Vikram explained the construction procedure and difference between theory and practice, bar bending concepts, fabrication of reinforcement, importance of drawing preparation, practical aspects and application of theory to practice.
