Sahyadri Journal of Management (SJOM) officially launched with
Vol. 1, Issue 1
Sahyadri Journal of Management (SJOM) Volume 1, Issue 1 was officially launched on September 7th, 2017 with ISSN No. 2456-9151. SJOM is an open access multidisciplinary biannual online journal. The journal was started with the objective to create an interface between various disciplines and promote thought provoking research. The current issue includes five empirically backed articles from various fields like Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance and Medical Sciences.
The Chief Editor, Dr. Rashmi Kodikal, Professor, Department of Business Administration on behalf of the Editorial Board thanks the author's of the articles, reviewers of the current issue & Advisory Board members. Special thanks to Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Mr. Sanjay Suvarna & Ms. Savitha for designing the Journal, Mr. Raghupathi Sidojji & Mr. Loyed Donath Alvares for uploading the articles and maintaining the website and Prof. Chandrakanth, Dept. of Business Administration for designing the layout of the Journal.

Inauguration of Student Council 2017-18
Mr. J R Lobo, Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Mangaluru South Constituency visited Sahyadri for the inaugural function of Student Council 2017-18.
Dr. J. V. Gorabal, Dean - Academics welcomed the gathering. Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice- Principal introduced the Council head. Chief Guest inaugurated the Student Council by Lighting the Lamp.
Mr. J R Lobo in his inaugural address highlighted the Leadership qualities. He said that leader should be well informed, have domain expertise, should be exemplary not only in personal but also in professional life and quoted examples of Barack Obama, Narendra Modi & Mahatma Gandhi. Further he added, leaders should be updated & professional to deal with any odds that he/she may face. He emphasized that leaders should focus on serving others rather than personal gains. Above all humanities is the essential factor which has to be an inherent quality. He appreciated our institution for providing students an opportunity to exhibit their leadership skills. Mr. Jagannath Chowta, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation thanked Mr. J R Lobo for gracing this occasion as a Chief Guest and inspiring students through his motivational words. He added, Councils are formed in order to guide students towards leading the life because we won't remain students throughout our life but we keep learning. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal, in his concluding remarks, referred to Mr. J R Lobo as a role Model for young minds through his simplicity & humbleness. He also said that leaders should not only be self disciplined but also empathetic to enhance the harmony in the surroundings. Respective HOD's and teaching staff were also present during the programme.
