Dr. Sharan Shetty has joined the Department of Business Administration-MBA as a Professor of International Finance and Banking. He has done his MBA and PhD from VTU, Belagavi.
• Prior to Sahyadri, Dr. Sharan has worked in Malaysia with Manipal Group of institutions for the period of five years and was handling many international assignments.
• Dynamic career of more than 15 years that reflects rich Indian & overseas experience & year-on-year success in Teaching & Mentoring and Educational Leadership.
• Successfully worked as an External Examiner of Doctoral Business Administration and also External Examiner for Doctor of Philosophy.
• Trainer in Outcome Based Education (OBE)
• Presented and published 27 Research Papers in National and International conferences.
• Dr. Shetty is an editorial Board member of many of the international publications.
• Visited Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Bangkok to present research papers and train faculty on Outcome Based Education.
• Dr. Shetty delivered quite a number of motivational talks.
• Teaching subjects such as Investment Management, Financial Management, International Financial Management, International Business Finance, Business Taxation, Financial Accounting, Behavioral Skills and Leadership.
• Dr. Shetty holds a Strong exposure in providing an educational atmosphere where students have opportunity to fulfil potential for intellectual, emotional & psychological growth.
• His research interests are International Finance & Banking, Financial Inclusion, Teaching Innovations & Sustainable Development, Learning, Leadership and Motivation.
• He strongly believes in Teaching is Transforming of young minds.

Two-Day Aeromodelling Workshop organized by Team Challengers

Aeromodelling Workshop organized by Team Challengers Aeromodelling Workshop organized by Team Challengers During the Day One, students were explained about the preliminary and conceptual design of Radio controlled plane. Post this; they had an activity to interact with each other creating new bonds of friendship. Next session was on electronic components and their uses. Further, students learned the theoretical design by XFLR software.

During the Day Two, students had structural session in which they built RC plane utilizing the materials provided to them. Mentors of each group explained the reasons behind all the motions through a Real Plane. Further, Air-show was also held. A member from each team presented their plane to the mentors. Workshop concluded after announcement of the winners and distribution of certificates as well as the prizes.

Student Counsellor participates in 2K Walkathon to create Eye Donation Awareness Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, participated in Two-Kilometre Walkathon organized by the South Kanara Ophthalmic Society in association with Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Limited (MRPL). “The Gift of Sight”, walkathon commenced from Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) Lalbagh to Nehru Maidan. This event was organized with an intention to create awareness about eye donation

Faculty members complete Java Certification course from Oracle Academy

Prof. Akhila Tejaswi and Prof. Prakhyath Rai, Department of Information & Science Engineering; Prof. Harisha, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, completed a Certification course from Oracle Academy on “Java Fundamentals and Java Programming”.

This course was taught as a part of Faculty Development Programme (FDP) by ORACLE ACADEMY in association with ICT Academy in Sahyadri Campus.

This course was designed by Oracle Academy. During the course, participants were introduced to object-oriented concepts, terminology, and syntax, and the steps required to create basic Java programs using hands-on, engaging activities like programming 3-D animations, develop 2-D games and create Java applications.

Indian Navy is visiting Sahyadri to conduct a pool campus recruitment drive for the engineering students of 2019 batch.

The Indian Navy is the navy branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The primary objective of the navy is to safeguard the nation's maritime borders, and in conjunction with other Armed Forces of the union, act to deter or defeat any threats or aggression against the territory, people or maritime interests of India, both in war and peace.
