A total of 22 first year engineering students from clan Samagratha, under the mentorship of Mr. Dixit from 2nd year Mechanical Engineering participated in ‘Techsparda 19’ organized by NIT Kurukshetra.
The team won prizes in the following events:

A total of 25 first year engineering students from clan Samyama, under the mentorship of Mr. Vinyas from 2nd year Mechanical Engineering participated in ‘Roboveda 19’ organized by Srinidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Hyderabad.

First year Engineering students win a prize at SRM Institute of science and Technology, Chennai.
A total of 19 first year students from clan Sankalp, under the mentorship of Mr. Pratham from 2nd year Mechanical Engineering participated in ‘Aarush 19’ organized by Sri Ramaswamy Memorial (SRM) Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. The team won 3rd place in Maze Runner.
Director- Research along with Incharge-Industry Connect meet the Director of IIIT-A
Dr. Manjappa S, Director-Research & Development and Dr. Anush Bekal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering & Industry Connect In-charge visited Prof. Dr. Nagabhushan, Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) who was on his official visit to Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).
IIIT-A being the mentor institute extended appraisal & best wishes towards the technical developments of Sahyadri. They discussed on long-term MoUs between the two institutions for student-centric initiatives in addition to faculty exchange programmes.
IIIT-A’s association with Sahyadri since the year 2009, has benefitted the overall development of our institution. Mrs. Laxmi Nagabhushan (Spouse of Prof. Dr. Nagabhushan); Dr. Manohara Pai M M, Professor- Dept. of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) & Associate Director- Innovation Centre, MIT; Dr. Radhika M Pai, Professor- Dept. of ICT, MIT and Dr. Renuka A, Professor-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering were also present during the occasion.
IT Quiz - Chanakya 2019 Concludes
Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized a One-Day IT Quiz - Chanakya 2019 on 28th Sep’19 in Sahyadri Campus. This competition was open for all Graduate and Post Graduate students of various colleges and Universities in Karnataka and nearly 150 teams took part in this event. Mr. Shailesh Shetty was the Quiz Master who hosted the event.

Sahyadrians participate in Massive Shramadan organized by Ramakrishna Mission
In commemoration of the concluding ceremony of Ramakrishna Mission Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan 2015-19 on Sunday, 29th Sep’19, the first year engineering students, NSS volunteers and faculty participated in the massive Shramadan organized at Central Market, Mangaluru.
The event was flagged off by Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj in the presence of other dignitaries. Our students were assigned the Central Service Bus stand as the location for Shramadan. The students worked with zeal and finished the task allotted to them.
Sahyadrian Recruited by TCS Digital
Tanveer Ahmed from Computer Science & Engineering was recruited by TCS Digital in the recruitment drive held on 12th Sep'19 with a salary package of Rs.7.00 Lakh per annum.
Campus Recruitment Drive - Robosoft Technologies
Robosoft Technologies visited Sahyadri on 28th Sep'19, to conduct a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for the engineering students of 2020 outgoing batch. A total of 97 students from pool colleges participated in the drive and the results are awaited.
Flutter Workshop by Developer Student Club
The beginning of a series of Flutter workshops took place on Sunday, 29th September 2019 with Developer Student Clubs (DSC) Sahyadri, which is affiliated to Google Developer Groups, taking up a day’s worth of sessions on the new framework for iOS and Android development by Google. Melwin Lobo and Adithya Suvarna from Computer Science & Engineering were the speakers of the event. The sessions covered the basics required to build an app with Flutter. This workshop will be continued on next Sunday with in-depth information on Flutter.
AAO nominated as the Distinguished Member of Indian Red Cross Society JRC/YRC Sub-Committee
Ms. Shreelatha U A, Academic Administrative Officer is nominated by the Indian Red Cross Society, D K District as the distinguished member of Indian Red Cross Society JRC/ YRC Sub-Committee. She will be heading the Youth Red Cross Unit of Sahyadri.
Fourth Session on Future Skills - AI/ Big Data
Sahyadri Future Skills - AI/ML Big Data organized its fourth session on 28 Sep’19. The session focussed on enlightening the knowledge about Artificial Neural Networks. Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth facilitated the session with a group activity. Each group came up with a problem and how it can be solved using Machine Learning. The session was then followed by a talk on Artificial Neural Networks. This presentation has helped the participants to understand the functioning of Artificial Neural Networks.
