Faculty Members Conduct Interactive Session on National Education Policy 2020 in India: A Progressive Step in Education

In order to create awareness among the faculty on the new “National Education Policy (NEP) 2020”, a team of Basic Science Faculty conducted an interactive session on 29th Sept’ 2020.
The policy was presented at 3 phases:
1. Foundation to Middle School by Ms. Suchetha
2. Secondary School by Dr. Savita M.B.; and
3. Higher Education by Dr. Navin N. Bappalige.
The National Education Policy was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992. More than three decades have passed since the previous Policy. During this period significant changes have taken place in the country, society, economy and the world at large. Quality innovation and research will be the pillars on which India will become a Knowledge Super Power.
Clearly, a new Education Policy is needed. The new NEP 2020 announced by the Ministry of Education, emphasizes on the holistic multidisciplinary education for future nation’s stakeholders.
The Main Objectives of NEP 2020 are:
1. Under the National Education Policy 2020, the Central and State Governments would work together to increase the public investment in education sector and to reach 6 Percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at the earliest;
2. Further Universalization of Education from Pre-school to Secondary level, with 100 Percent Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in School Education by 2030;
3. To transfer India into a vibrant knowledge society making both school and college education more holistic, flexible and multi-disciplinary suited to the 21st century.
The Presentation was conducted for the faculty of Information Science, Computer Science, Mechanical and Electronics & Communications Engineering.

Bridge Course 2020 Second Batch – Day Eight

bridge-course Day Eight of the Bridge Course included testing and debugging of the automated robots and the RC-bots.
During both the sessions students were engaged in testing and debugging of the automated robots and RC bots. The session was led by Ms. Hithaishy B. & Ms. Shibani Pinto who helped students test their Line Followers and RC bots.
