Director-R&D as Reviewer of “No Increase in Pollution Load” at KSPCB
Dr. S. Manjappa, Director-R&D has been nominated as member of Technical Committee to evaluate the Pollution loads either on Expansion, Modernization or by Product Mix and to certify for environmental clearance from Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Bengaluru.
The said Technical Committee is constituted as per the Ministry of Environment and Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India, Notification 2016. Terms of reference of this Committee is to evaluate the pollution load of industries before and after the change of raw materials, change of process, modernization of the plant or product mix and recommend to the board for issue of “No Pollution Load” by the industry.
Dr. Manjappa is having an experience of working in this Board since 2001 as Member and Chairman of Technological Advisory Committee to issue consent to start industry in any part of Karnataka for certain categories of industries. He has also worked for three terms for the Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate Change, GOI as an Expert Committee member both at state and national levels.

Joswin Mark Monteiro, student of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been recruited by Winman Software India LLP in the recently held Virtual Campus Recruitment Drive.
Winman Software India LLP is engaged in developing and distributing standardized software products with a special focus on income tax software for the Indian market. The development and distribution of the software initiated by Winman Software is taken over by Winman Software India LLP since 2016.
Caliper provides Certified Hands-on Internship in CNC Machining to the Students of Mechanical Engineering
During Covid Induced Lockdown, following the safety norms prescribed by the Govt., ten students of Mechanical Engineering completed minimum 40 hours to 100 hours of Certified Hands-on Internship in CNC Machining at Caliper.
Right from understanding the product the students learnt CAM programming, tool selection, setting the jobs and handhold CNC machines during production. All students were exposed to live production and allowed to participate in the production.
Active participation in production culminated in paid internship for many. All 10 students have been awarded with Internship certificates.
Caliper is an In-house Industry in Sahyadri, serving esteemed clients like Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Railways, Oil & Gas sectors.
Caliper is the only place in Dakshina Kannada that provides internship for students in a wide spectrum of areas of specialisation throughout the year, which in fact is very unique to itself.

Bridge Course 2020 for the Engineering Students commences at Sahyadri - Day 2
The Day 2 of Bridge Course started with the team building Activity where the students have to come up with the storyboard representing the team to make the students to understand the importance of the team work and building the team.
During the second half of the morning session, students got an insight into the problem statement of the Bridge Course for which they will be building Robotic bots.
Students were introduced to the ‘on shape’ software where they learnt about the basic tools of the software and designing of the models. The session was facilitated by Mr. Swasthik and Mr. Prajwal of DreamWorks Makerspace.
In the second half MIT APP Inventor was introduced to the students wherein they learnt about building basic mobile applications. The session was facilitated by Mr. Subrammnay Rao and Mr. Sujith from DT Labz.
JEE-MAIN 2020 Online Exams held at the Sahyadri Campus
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-MAIN) 2020 April-September 2020 Online exams were held at the campus on 1st Sept’2020, adhering to the precautionary COVID-19 Guidelines.
Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an examination organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India. JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board.
