Local Inspection Committee Visits Sahyadri

A five member team of VTU Local Inspection Committee (LIC) visited the college. They visited various departments and expressed satisfaction and happiness with regard to the progress made by the institute and the infrastructure provided. They appreciated the all round development of the college in a very short span of time in Academics, Research, Sports and Cultural arena.

“Athlein 2014”

Mr. Steven M.P. Dais, National Athlete, inaugurated “Athlein 2014”, the P.G annual athletic meet of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and declared the meet open. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of sports. A March Past by the P.G. students was the highlight of the inaugural session. The First year MCA won the first place in the March Past. The second place was bagged by the first year MBA ‘A’ Section while the third prize went to M-Tech, Department of Civil Engineering. The prize winners of the various events were honoured on the occasion. Dr. U .M. Bhushi, Principal, presented a memento to Mr. Mr. Steven M. P. Dais as a token of appreciation from the college.

The Individual Championship was won by Mr. Rakshith H.S and Pavan Kumar Shetty in the boys’ section while Ms. Deepika and Mrs. Preethi won the Individual Championship in the girls’ section. The Over-all Championship in the boys’ section was won by the MBA and the M-Tech branch won the Over-all Runners-Up Championship in the boys’ section. The Over-all Championship in the girls’ section went to the M-Tech while the Over-all Runners-Up Championship in the girls’ section was won by the MBA. The Over-all Championship (boys’ and girls’ combined) was won by the MBA branch. All the winners were felicitated during the Valedictory function of Athlein-2014. Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal, formally ended the event with the lowering of the flag and declaring the meet closed.

Pool Campus Recruitment Drive by Tayana Software
Solutions Pvt Ltd.

Tayana Software Solutions Pvt Ltd. , conducted a pool campus recruitment drive in the Campus. One hundred and ninety four students participated in the drive.

Mr. Rathan Rao Pathur CTO & Team gave a pre-placement talk. Rathan Rao P - CTO, James Jaiob - Project Manager, Mohammed Rafi - Associate Leader, Venkatesh Kulkarni - Senior Project Leader, Shouvik Kar - Senior Project Head conducted the recruitment progress. Forty two students were shortlisted in the Written Test.

Divyashree N., Department of MCA, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Wasimakram M. Sutar, NMAMIT, Nitte, and Soubhagya Lakshmi Somalapura, SDMIT, Ujire, have been shortlisted in the technical round. The final interview for selected candidates will be held in Bangalore.

Faculty member invited as resource person

Prof. Abdul Kareem, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, delivered a talk on "Green Technologies for Wireless Communication," in the National level Workshop on ‘Wireless Communication and PCB Fabrication’, funded by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, organized by PG Department of Physics, St. Philomena College, Puttur.

Faculty Members and Students participate in One Day Workshop

Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Moodbidri, conducted a One Day workshop on 'Dimensions of Business Strategies in Global Scenario’. Nine students of the first year Department of Business Administration along with Ms. Divya Prabhu, Mrs. Shilpa Shetty, Mr.Vishwanath.BN and Mr. Ullas. U. M, Assistant Professors, Department of Business Administration, attended this workshop.

The workshop had technical sessions on specialization in Finance, Marketing and HR. Eminent speakers from companies like Capgemini, Himalaya Drugs, Juniper Networks and Udupi Power Corporation addressed the gathering.

Sahyadrians win in Techbytes

Dhanush Hegde, Semester VIII, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Vinay Raghavan, Semester VIII, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering have won the second place in zonal finals of TCS- Techbytes held at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil.


Chakravyuh-2014

Students of the college took part in 'Chakravyuh-2014', a National level inter-collegiate cultural- technical fest held at Alva's Institute of Technology & Management, Mijar, Moodbidri. Prateek Shetty and Ashith Naik of Semester II won the Second place in the National level Ethical Hacking competition.

Being a Kid Again

Sambhrama – 2014 was a learning experience not only for the children of Meramajal but also to all the resource persons, volunteers of the college, who were fortunate to see their dream of reliving their childhood come true. Sixty-two students from few Government Primary Schools of Meramajal participated in the Summer Camp and enjoyed the fun filled learning process which taught them Craft, Action songs, Drawing, Painting, Kite Making, Music, Dance, Mime, Drama and few soft skills…… click here to view Photo Gallery

Faculty member presents paper in National Conference

Mrs. Gayathri Shetty., Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, presented a research paper titled, ‘Business Ethics’, in the National Conference on “Business Sustainability through Social Value Addition”, held at the PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies, St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.
