Tech-Vision 2016 held in the Campus

Tech-Vision-2016; an intra-college exhibition-cum-competition of student projects under the Student Project Support Scheme (SPSS) of the college, was inaugurated by Dr. Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman & Managing Director, Allcargo Logistics Ltd. by switching on a PCB Milling Machine designed by students where the drill bit was swapped by a marker to write the word `Thanks’ on a sheet of paper just like a drill bit would cut a profile on wood or a piece of metal.

Among many awards and citations that Dr. Shashi Kiran Shetty has received, in 2015 the Mangalore University conferred Honoris Causa (honorary doctorate) on him and he has also been honoured with the Rotary Annual 'Vandana Award' for the year 2016.

Dr. Shashi Kiran Shetty went round looking at various projects exhibited by the students. 200 projects of the II year, III year B.E., M.Tech. and 150 final year student projects were put on display. The chief guest was fascinated with every prototype he saw and was seen asking students many questions. The winners of the exhibition-cum-project competition were felicitated during the College Day programme.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said that he was truly privileged to be in the campus and was happy to see the wonderful ideas and innovations that students have come up with.
