Heath Streak praises Sahyadri, says it has a World Class Cricket Ground & other facilities in the Campus
During the interaction session with the MBAs, Heath Streak, the former Zimbabwe Cricket Captain & International Cricket Coach, Founder President of Old Mutual Heath Streak International Cricket Trust admired the institution for its World Class Cricket Ground & other facilities in the campus and also for making it available to the community. He said Sahyadrians are fortunate to have been amidst this surrounding. Mr. Joseph Rego, CEO, Partner & Executive Director of Old Mutual Heath Streak International Cricket Trust was also present during the session.

Inauguration of the 1st Start-up of MBA – Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP
With the guidance of Chairman – Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, the Dept of Business Administration-MBA launched its first start-up – ‘Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP’, a franchisee of Anand Rathi which is into Financing Services. Prof. Dinesh Prasad, Chairman of Noble Business School, Bengaluru inaugurated the start-up in the presence of Principal – Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte; Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice Principal; Dr. Rajesha, Dean-Academics, Mr. Ramesh Hegde, Finance Officer and the Branch Manager of Anand Raathi – Mr. Paudhan Shetty who is the alumni of Sahyadri MBA (2008-2010 Batch).

Ambedkar Jayanthi Celebration in the Campus
The students & faculty of Sahyadri paid homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the auspicious occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14th). Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birthday of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, politician, philosopher, anthropologist, historian and economist who was also the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
Dreamathon 2019 held at Sahyadri
Dreamathon - Mangalore’s largest coding Hackathon was initiated by DSI- Dream Soft Innovations in association with Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, in collaboration with NAIN, Government of Karnataka, Dtlabz, and Host Zyro. It visualized events such as Code Hunt, Hackathon, Dreamathon and Gamethon, where the technocrats were provided with a wonderful opportunity to explore their ideas, their thoughts to the real world within the time limit of 30 hours. It became the platform for the enthusiasts to expel their knowledge and their craziness towards coding. The encouraging minds who supported this event were Mr. Pradeep Raj, Operations Manager at CEOL Mangaluru; Mr. Rajesh Naidu from Aptra Technologies Pvt. Ltd; Mr. Akshay, Founder of Pixgrammer; Mr. Sathyaraj, Technical Art Director at Ironjaw Studios Pvt. Ltd; Mr. Prince, CEO & Co-Founder at My Road Runner; Mr. Naresh Bhat, Founder of Host Zyro and Prof. Prashanth Duddela.
The winners of the various categories were announced and the cash prizes were handed over by the guests alongside Mr. Sachin Ganesh and Ms. Divya, Co-founders of DSI.

Summer Camp 2019 by DTlabz in Sahyadri Campus
Summer Camp 2019 by DTlabz began at Sahyadri with a bunch of young talented kids of the age group between 10 -16 years from various schools in and around Mangaluru with the quest to discover new insights about technical knowledge.
The camp started with a session from Mr. Gautham Nayak briefing the students about the camp with the theme of knowing oneself and team building activities followed by a glimpse of fun with electronics session by Gagandeep. The entire day was filled with fun and learning as the teams opened the door to make new friends.
Second day of Summer Camp 2019 began with new friends coming together with enthusiasm. The day started with action song and games as a warm up exercise followed by the design thinking activity wherein children were asked to make an innovative bag which fulfills the needs of the customer to bring out the true potential of their creative thinking. Presentation of their creativity in front the crowd focused on enhancing their confidence. Working on tinker cad and dream kit brought new experiences to the young brains.
Stock Market Awareness Programme for MBAs organized by Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP
With the establishment of the very first start-up of MBA - ‘Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP’, a stock market awareness programme was organized for the MBAs. Prof. Ramesh K.G, Dean-Strategic Planning facilitated the session. Students & faculty members of MBA department participated in the programme. The response from the participants was overwhelming with Questions being asked and their doubts being clarified by the resource person. The company has already started receiving applications to open their DMAT accounts.

Nine Sahyadrians Recruited by Diya Systems
Mr. Tejesh Kumar, Ms. Nidhi Rai and Ms. Pooja from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Ms. Pooja Krishna Patil, Ms. Meghana P and Ms. Sushma MB from the Department of Information Science & Engineering and Mr. Krithesh Bhandary, Ms. Pratiksha P Bappal and Ms. PN Manjusha from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering were recruited by Diya Systems for the position of Technical Support Executive in the recently held campus recruitment drive at Sahyadri.
Campus Recruitment drive - The Ian Martin Group
On their 4th Anniversary, The Ian Martin Group conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for BE students from all branches & MBA students of 2019 outgoing batch. A six member team headed by Mr. Murali Balasubramanyam - Vice President; Ms. Priyanka Shetty; Mr. Kaushal Jogi; Ms. Shraddha Asnotikar; Ms. Mayuri Venkatesh; Mr. Sagar Chatterjee & Ratheesh Manivannan from the Recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the process. A total of 313 students from various colleges in DK & Udupi district participated in the drive & the results are awaited.
Sahyadrians Recruited by Attra Infotech Ltd.
Ms. Vaishnavi K L and Ms. Neha C Poojari from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering were recruited by Attra Infotech Ltd. for the position of Associate Engineer, with a Package of Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per Annum in the recently held campus recruitment drive at Sahyadri.
Attra is a multinational IT consulting and services company focused on providing technology services to financial institutions, payment companies, third party payment processors and gateways, retailers and other future segments. They are a domain focused organization helping their customers to make their payments objectives a reality.
Belthangady Block Congress President visits Sahyadri
Mr. B Rajashekara Ajri, the present Belthangady Block Congress President and Former Jilla Panchayath member visited the Campus and interacted with the Chairman – Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. He visited the departmental innovation centres and the various start-ups and industries of Sahyadri and had words of praise for its student-centric learning environment.
MBAs involve in Voting Awareness Campaign
In association with Indian Express, Sahyadri MBA and Engineering Students have actively participated in Voting awareness programme in Mangaluru. Prof. Padmanabha from the Department of Business Administration along with MBA and Engineering Students distributed the voting awareness pamphlets, brochures and booklets to the public. Around 1,000 to 1,500 people were met during this process.
JEE Main 2019 Online Exam in Sahyadri Campus
The JEE Main 2019 for April session Online Exams were conducted in College computer labs in 2 batches with 150 students in each batch. A total of 1,500 students attempted the Test.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN is conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

To bridge the gap between aspiring students and renowned institutions, TV 9 conducted Education Fair - 2019 as a unique platform for students to choose the premier institutions. This event was a mega opportunity for various institutes to attract the students.
The faculty members from various departments along with admission team of Sahyadri represented the institute at the Summit and interacted with the prospective parents and the students.
