‘New India’ By 2022: Pledge

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Quit India movement, the Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi, has called upon the Indian citizens to imbibe the message of this great political event. He said on August 9 people should take a pledge to contribute something for the nation. He asked every social organization, educational institute, the public sector and others to help in making this movement successful.

Principal Dr. U. M. Bhushi along with the entire Sahyadri fraternity took the following pledge to build a New India by 2022.

Pledge:

“Let Us Together Pledge That By 2022 We Build A New India.

Let us together pledge towards a Clean India

Let us together pledge towards a Poverty free India

Let us together pledge towards a Corruption free India

Let us together pledge towards a Terrorism free India

Let us together pledge towards a Communalism free India

Together let us strive whole heartedly to accomplish this pledge for a New India”

Final Orientation session for the Parents of New Entrants to Engineering Final batch of Orientation session for the parents of new entrants to the engineering stream was held in the Campus. Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, extended a warm welcome and addressed the gathered parents, briefing them on the overall growth of the college since the inception. He basically stressed to the parents on acceptance of the engineering course. He stated that engineering is a process of learning the concepts, rather than only studying. He called upon the parents to motivate their ward to learn new things using facilities which are available in the college adding that the institution is just a dead infrastructure to which only the students can bring life & make a difference with an impact.

He shared some of his personal views asking parents to develop a friendly relationship with their ward and also closely monitor every activity of theirs. He insisted the parents to teach the basic life skills that are required for an individual thus making their ward self dependent, reliable and employable. He placed the Placement statistics before the parents including the highest pay package, stating the difference between the product based and service based company. He mentioned about the platform provided to the students to compete at the national and international level events. He suggested the parents to avail educational loan in order to make their child financially responsible. He gave additional details about the E-buzz, E-magazine and Newsletter. He also briefed about the dress code that every student must follow in the campus.

Health care check up by KMC Hospitals, Mangalore

Health care check up by KMC Hospitals, Mangalore KMC Hospitals, Mangalore had organized A Health Awareness Campaign & Free BP, Blood Sugar Check Up at our campus for all the employees and students of the institute. 128 employees and students have been benefitted with the campaign organized at the campus.

A team comprising of Medical professionals and Management professionals from the KMC Hospitals were at the campus to facilitate the entire campaign and check Up.

KMC Hospitals has been conducting Health Awareness Camps in over 150 + Residential Apartments, Co-operates, Townships, Schools, Collages, Religious Institutes etc in and around the city of Mangalore, With the intention of educating people on the importance of Health and methods of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

MBA Faculty invited as guests for VIVO College Opening Ceremony in Bengaluru

MBA Faculty invited as guests for VIVO College Opening Ceremony in Bengaluru Prof. Ramesh K G and Prof. Girish Madla, Department of Business Administration were invited as guests for the Vivo College Opening Ceremony (Training Camp) at Bengaluru. The event was organized by Weiwo Communication Pvt Ltd in the intention to show their acknowledgment to College Placement Cell Officer/ Campus recruitment Coordinator and boost the recruited students and also strengthen the relationship for further recruitments.

Weiwo Communication Pvt Ltd had recently hired 10 students of Department of Business Administration in the recruitment drive held at our campus.

Paper plane competition by TEAM CHALLENGERS

Paper plane competition for the students of engineering was conducted at the campus. The competition was conducted as part of the aero modeling and Robotic workshop to be organized by team CHALLENGERS during the next week. Thirty students actively participated in the competition. The event comprised of the qualifying round and selected participants were further qualified to the air time round.


MBA alumnus receives a recognition Award

MBA alumnus receives a recognition Award Mr. Achutha Shenoy K, Audit Associate at KPMG GDC , an alumnus of the Department of Business Administration (2014-16 batch) has been awarded the Above & Beyond award at the Q3 FY 16-17 Rewards & Recognition ceremony held at KPMG GDC, Bangalore.

The Above & Beyond Award is the most prestigious award at KPMG. It is awarded to the employees who serve the clients requirements and is recognized for rendering the best of services to the US Onshore team thus meeting the deadlines of the audit work received.

Mr. Bill Tomazin, KPMG Partner, gave the award to Mr. Achutha and congratulated him on the feedbacks he has received from the US Onshore team for his continuous dedication and hard work shown on the different audit areas worked on. Mr. Achutha has also received the “Professional of the Day” award and the Spot awards for his zeal and commitment towards the work.

Bridge course concludes

On the last day of the Bridge course, the students were divided into various groups and further were insisted to market the prototypes developed by the group. Every group was provided with presentation and marketing tips to go ahead. The confidence level of every individual was a clear reflection of the communication skills they had learnt during the bridge course. The impetus of the bridge course to make the students ready for the world of engineering after four years of the course was served with the activity of converting ideas into prototypes and finally marketing them.

Faculty member attends Workshop Mr. Anilkumar N S, Assistant Professor from the department of Civil Engineering attended a workshop on “Urban Solid Waste Management and Practice”, organized by the University Of BDT College Of Engineering, Davangere. Mr. Anilkumar N S delivered a technical talk on the topic “Solid Waste Disposal Methods: Dumping method and Controlled Tipping method”.

Welcome to the Fold

Mr. Ravi Prasad has joined the Department of Civil Engineering as an Associate Professor. He has completed his B.E in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Industrial Structures from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. His area of Specialization is Structural engineering And Concrete Technology.
