Sahyadrians contribute relief materials for the flood victims of Kodagu and Kerala

Dr. Molly Chaudhuri invited as Guest of Honour at Mount Carmel Central School Dr. Molly Chaudhuri invited as Guest of Honour at Mount Carmel Central School To help rehabilitate the people of Kodagu and Kerala reeling from the devastations caused by the incessant rain, floods and landslides, students of Engineering and Management along with the faculty contributed the much needed relief materials to the relief camps at Kerala and Kodagu. The students and staff donated food items, sanitary materials, medicines, bed sheets, clothing, water bottles, toiletries and cleaning materials.

Further, an amount of Rs. 1,66,750/- was sent to the Chief Minister Relief Fund Natural Calamity.

Students of Govt. First Grade College, Punjalkatte visited Sahyadri for Hands-On Training & Industry Visit

Students of Govt. First Grade College, Punjalkatte visited Sahyadri for Hands-On Training & Industry Visit  Around Eighty students of Government First Grade College (GFGC), Punjalkatte visited Sahyadri for a One-Day Hands-On Training on Typing Master Tool and MS Excel. Initially, Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA interacted with the students and introduced them to the in-house industries of Sahyadri through presentation. Post this, Chirag Bangera & Gina D’Mello – 2nd year MBA students facilitated the Hands-On Training on Typing Master Tool in the Sahyadri Aptitude Lab. Students were given opportunity to practice on the tool. Typing Test was conducted and electronically generated Typing Test Certificate was issued which featured their Typing Accuracy and Typing Speed.

This was followed by the visit to the various In-house start-ups of Sahyadri wherein the students met the Heads of the companies, interacted with them and also viewed the workflow. Post Lunch, students had another Hands-On session on MS Excel.

Sahyadri organizes Self Defence Training Sahyadri organizes Self Defence Training To enable students to protect themselves from any form of assaults and harassments, the Sahyadri NSS Unit organized Self Defence Training by a well-known Martial Artist Mr. Karthik S. Kateel, Founder and CEO of Swaraksha for Women Trust. Karthik along with his mother Ms. Shobhalatha who assisted him, demonstrated various self-defence techniques and tricks choreographed by him that students can use to protect themselves in times of danger. He also explained the psychological and logical tactics that can be used for protecting self from assailants. He went on to advise the students about the precautions that they ought to take to avoid becoming victims of kidnaps, assaults, gang-rapes and other dangerous situations. The workshop provided the students with various information and tips that could be useful to keep themselves safe. While concluding, Mr. Karthik said that the power of self-defence lies in the person’s mind and not in the muscles.

Online Assessment conducted by EPAM

Dr. Molly Chaudhuri invited as Guest of Honour at Mount Carmel Central School EPAM conducted an online technical assessment at Sahyadri for the B. Tech/B.E – Computer Science (CS) Information Science (IS) and Electronics and communications (EC) for the engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch.

EPAM Systems, Inc., also known as EPAM is a global provider of software engineering and IT consulting services headquartered in Newtown, Pennsylvania, United States. The company has software development centres and branch offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Sahyadrians selected as Deans for Mangaluru to the School of AI

Padmanabha Padmanabha Two of the third year students from the Dept of Computer Science & Engineering - Jehad Mohamed and Shreyas Baliga after an extensive review process have been selected as the Deans for Mangaluru to the School of AI.

School of AI offers a world-class AI education to anyone on Earth for free. Their doors are open to all those who wish to learn. They are a learning community that spans almost every country dedicated to teaching students how to make a positive impact in the world using AI technology, whether that's through employment or entrepreneurship. The Mangaluru School of AI will be following these principles in organizing events, sessions and workshops related to AI and recent trends along with Sahyadri Open Source Community.

MBA Students coordinate 5th Anniversary event of Audi Mangaluru at Taj Gateway MBA Students coordinate 5th Anniversary event of Audi Mangaluru at Taj Gateway Audi Mangaluru celebrated its fifth anniversary recently at Taj Gateway, Mangaluru and Sahyadri MBA - Marketing students were given the opportunity to coordinate this event. The event was conducted as part of their customer engagement activity.

Mr. Manoj, Mr. Suyog, Mr. Zainuddin, Ms. Saleekha and Mr. Ninad Joshi were part of the event. Prior to the event, students were given an assignment to design activities to engage customers. During the event, the students were asked to do an observation research on the customers and also manage the event.

Mr. Suresh G, COO, Jubilant Motorworks Pvt Ltd; Mr. Vaibhav Vernekar, Marketing Manager, Audi, Bengaluru and Mr. Chethan Anil Pinto, Marketing Executive, Audi, Bengaluru were part of the event.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Chethan Anil Pinto, Marketing Executive, Audi, Bengaluru who is also an alumnus of Sahyadri MBA. This opportunity has opened doors for Sahyadri MBA in coordinating Audi events in the future.

Caliper employee presents a Research Paper in an International Conference

Dr. Molly Chaudhuri invited as Guest of Honour at Mount Carmel Central School Ms. Babisha, M.Tech from Sahyadri (2018 passed out) has presented a paper on “Study of wave behaviour of glass epoxy composites filled with titanium di-oxide and graphite filler material” in an International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering”. She is currently an employee Caliper Engineering and Labs Pvt Ltd, a Mechanical Engineering Start-Up of Sahyadri.

Faculty members attend Short Term Course at IISc, Bangalore Faculty members attend Short Term Course at IISc, Bangalore Prof. Hanumantharaya R and Prof. Ajith B S from the Department of Mechanical Engineering attended One-Week Short Term Course on “Computational Fluid Dynamics” at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The objective of the course was to provide participants with an insight to the theory, methods and applications of CFD tools in Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow and Combustion Problems. The course was facilitated by Prof. R V Ravikrishna, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IISc, Bangalore.

Swami Dayatmanandaji, a senior monk of Ramakrishna Order graces Sahyadri with his presence at the institute Swami Dayatmanandaji visited Sahyadri and glanced around the academic and industrial infrastructure established at the campus. He expressed his happiness over the growth factor of Sahyadri which was achieved in less than a decade.

Swamiji interacted with the representatives of all the in-house industries and start-ups and also blessed each of them in taking this set up to a greater height.

Brief Profile of Swami Dayatmanandaji
He is a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order. He joined the Ramakrishna Order in 1964, was initiated in 1964 by Revered Yatiswaranandaji Maharaj, and had his Sannyasa in 1973 from Revered Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj.

He worked in various Centres of the Ramakrishna Order until 1991 when he was posted to Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, U.K., as Assistant Minister.
In 1993 he was appointed as President of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, and continued to look after the Vedanta Centre until March 2018.
Currently, he is leading a retired life at Ramakrishna Math, Halasuru.

Padmanabha Apeksha Marathe of First Semester Computer Science & Engineering is a Karate Champion. Her achievements include
• Karate Black Belt holder - Won Gold Medal in National Level Karate Competition in 2014
• Won Gold Medal in Kata and 3rd place in Kumite in 2015
• Won Second Place in Gushin Ryu stylae Federation in 2012
She is an eminent Yakshagana Artist. She has even completed her keyboard exam with distinction at Trinity Music School London.

Abhishek Vaish Rael Vinisha D’Souza of First Semester Computer Science and Engineering is a Table Tennis & Throw-ball Player. She has participated in various events and won prizes. She has participated in 61st National School Games in Table Tennis and also participated in State Level Throw-ball tournament.

Abhishek Vaish Mr. Tejas is a Yoga Practitioner. He has won 2nd prize in the State Level Yoga Competition held at Kalladka in the year 2016. He has received Rajya Puraskar for Scouts and has also obtained 2nd prize in District Level Working Model Science project. Sahyadri family congratulates Mr. Tejas for his achievements and wishes him the best for his future endeavors.

Abhishek Vaish Swarna Bharathi Mallya K from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been selected by Infosys for the position of Systems Engineer - Specialist with a package of Rs. 5 lakhs per annum in the recently held HackWithInfy contest at Sahyadri for the 2019 outgoing Batch.

Abhishek Vaish Prof. Navya Rai D, Dept. of Civil Engineering presented a paper titled - "A Comparative Study on Load Moment Interaction Diagrams for L Shaped RC Columns with that of Circular Columns” (M. Tech Dissertation Work) in an International conference on "Topical Transcends in Science, Technology & Management" organized by Sai Vidya Institute of Technolgy, Bengaluru in association with Institute for Exploring Advances in Engineering, an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute by Universal Registrars, Accredited by EA-JAS. Prof. Navya Rai D has completed her M.Tech in Structural Engineering from Sahyadri and her M.Tech dissertation was guided by Prof. Smitha, Dept. of Civil Engineering & Dr. B.G. Naresh Kumar, Professor & Principal of Maharaja Institute of Technology, Mysore.
