Dr. A. V. Ramana Deekshitulu Chief Priest of Tirupathi Tirumala Temple Visits Sahyadri
Dr. A. V. Ramana Deekshitulu, Pradhana Archaka, Tirupathi Tirumala Temple, an eminent personality visited the Campus and blessed and guided the management and faculty fraternity. Dr. A. V. Ramana Deekshitulu is a scientist with a doctorate in molecular biology and has had various opportunities to interact with eminent scientists world-wide.
Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, gave an introductory note with a briefing about his long term association with Dr. A. V. Ramana Deekshitulu, Pradhana Archaka, Tirupathi Tirumala Temple and the ability of Deekshitulu to converse with God heart to heart.
Dr. A. V. Ramana Deekshitulu addressed the Sahyadri family and shared his vast knowledge and experience. He explained that the purpose of education is to give back to the society and appreciated the development of technology. He stressed on the importance of ozone layer and its protection from global warming. He requested to protect the mother earth. He explained the existence of God in a scientific way and briefed the importance of Veda, Upanishad, Yajna and chanting of manthras.
He enriched the audience with message of lord Krishna to perform duties without any expectations so that one remains calm in any situation of life and stated that one’s destiny is predetermined so one has to live without worrying about the past and the future.

MBA Students Celebrate Graduation Day-2014
 The Graduation Day of the fifth batch of students of Master of Business Administration was held in the Campus. Dr. Deependra Moitra, President and CEO, Praxight Partners, Chairman & Co-Founder, Teritree Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, was the Chief Guest for the programme. He conveyed life messages through inspirational stories. His messages were focused on progress through substance, need for continuous unlearning and learning, struggle for growth, tradeoffs in situations, having unique individual ambitions, positive communication skills, managing relationships and adaptive behavior. He also emphasized that individual identity is character and asked the graduates to imbibe individual ethical behavior.
 Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation gave the opening remarks. Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri Educational Institutions welcomed the gathering. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management proposed the Vote of Thanks. The function was graced by Director, Department of Business Administration, HoDs of various departments, faculty members and parents of graduates. 176 post-graduate students took an oath and received their graduation certificates.

FKCCI & Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management Sign MoU
Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FKCCI), Bangalore and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to foster Industry-Institution relationship and to effectively complement each other’s effort in serving the cause of industries and students and to facilitate growth and development of Industries. This MoU will facilitate jointly organizing seminars / conferences, Management Development Programme (MDP), Executive Development Programme (EDP) – long term / short term programmes for enhancing skills /competency of employees, jointly work for channelizing funds of Government / Non Government Agencies for the project on skill building, talent development, etc., jointly work to provide suitable placement for the graduates upon successful completion of the programme to the extent possible and FKCCI will extend the resources by providing practical training for the students for industrial visits, conducting various programmes, workshops as required under the curriculum to the students. The MoU was executed by Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, President, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mr. Sampathraman, President, FKCCI, Bangalore.

Sahyadri Tulvere Isiri - An Inter College Cultural Competition
Sahyadri Tuluvere Isiri an inter college cultural competition was held in the campus on behalf of Vishwa Tulvere Parbha -2014.The programme was inaugurated by the Guest of Honor Dr .N. Vinaya Hedge, Chancellor Nitte Education Trust. Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management presided over the function and Shri M.B Puranik, Shri Dharmapala Devadiga, Shri Mahabala Shetty Adyar, Smt. Jayalakshmi Hegde, & Shri A.C. Bhandary from Vishwa Tulvere Parbha committee were the dignitaries on the dais. Smt. Shreelatha U.A. coordinated the programme. The Sahyadri Tulvere Isiri programme is sponsored by Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management.

14 students from the Department of Business Administration have been selected as Associate-GDC by KPMG in the recently conducted recruitment drive in the campus. This is the highest number among 26 students selected from the participating colleges.

ISO 9001:2008 Certification Awarded by TUV Nord Germany for the next Three Years
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is awarded with an extension of ISO 9001:2008 certification up to the year 2017. This certification was conducted in accordance with the TUV NORD CERT auditing and certification procedures and is subject to regular surveillance audits.

Tulunadu Photography Contest 2014
The digital photographs submitted by the participants for Tulunadu Photography Contest 2014 organised by the Tulu Sahithya Academy Mangalore & Akhila Bharatha Tulu Okkoota, was judged by Mr. Ishwarayya Ananthapura, Veteran Journalist and Art Critic, Mr. Yajna Mangalore, Senior Photographer and Dr. Krishna Mohan, Moodbidri, Popular Wildlife Photographer. The award winners list and photographs are displayed on the website pixel2life.in. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal and Mrs. Shreelatha, Academic Administrative Officer, welcomed the guests and Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Organizing Secretary and Mr. Abhishek Saha, Aptra Technologies coordinated the programme.

Faculty Member Selected as Reviewer for SCI Indexed International Journal of Electronic Imaging
Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering is selected as reviewer in SCI Indexed International Journal of Electronic Imaging (JEI). JEI is peer-reviewed international journal which has Thomson Reuters Web of Science 5-Year Impact Factor of 1.024. JEI (ISSN: 1017-9909, E-ISSN: 1560-229X) is published by SPIE and IS&T, USA. JEI publishes papers in all technology areas that make up the field of electronic imaging and are normally considered in the design, engineering, and applications of electronic imaging systems. Digitisation and Digital Evaluation work of UG/PG answer scripts underway in the Campus
Digitisation and Digital Evaluation work of UG/PG answer scripts of Dec 2014/Jan 2015 for this zone have been entrusted to Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management by the VTU, Belgaum. The Digital Evaluation of answer scripts of the semester examinations conducted by VTU has begun. Evaluators from different colleges affiliated to VTU are involved in the process of evaluation.
