Prof. S. S. Balakrishna Appointed as Vice Principal
Prof. S. S. Balakrishna has been appointed as the Vice Principal of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. He has completed his BE in Mechanical Engineering from AIT Chickmagalur, M.Tech. in Design from I.I.T. Kharagpur and is pursuing his Ph.D. (Composite Structures) from NITK, Surathkal. He has published 2 books and has 3 international journal publications. He has got more than 31 years of experience in teaching and 3 years of experience in research.
He has worked in various capacities; HOD of Mechanical Engineering, Dean (Administration), Dean (Planning & Development) in the Sahyadri Institute. He is the Chief Editor of the Sahyadri Newsletter.

Nair, Varsha Muthappa V. and Sagar Kumar from the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, B.G. Arpitha from Information Science Engineering and Dhanush C. Achar and Mohammed Zamil from the Department of Mechanical Engineering have been recruited by IBM in the recently held recruitment drive in the campus.

VTU Exclusive e-Learning Portal for 23 NPTEL Phase-I Courses
The VTU e-Learning Centre, Mysuru has developed an exclusive portal funded by MHRD, Government of India under the National Mission on Education through ICT the grant-in-aid project entitled “Technology Enhanced Learning Initiatives of VTU.”
The four quadrant courses for 23 NPTEL Phase-I are available in different disciplines for students and the teaching community in Basic Sciences, Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering among others. Faculty Members Publish Paper in International Journal
Ms. Ashutha K, Research Assistant, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mrs. Ankitha K., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering published a research paper “Smart Shopping Cart Using Embedded System and Wireless Modules” http://benthamscience.com/journals/recent-patents-on-computer-science/article/135852/ in the special issue of Scopus (Elsevier) indexed International Journal Recent Patents on Computer Science. This special issue was guest edited by Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and supported by Dr. Rathishchandra Gatti, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
