The Chairman and the Principal Visit and Contribute to the Yoga University

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and Dr. U.M. Bhushi, Principal along with Mr. Karthik Bhandary from the Department of Business Administration visited the Yoga University at Bengaluru and made a humble contribution of Rupees Two lakhs to the 21st International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and Its Applications - 21st NCOFYRA from the Sahyadri Corpus fund. Many of our faculties will be involved as volunteers in the conference to be held from 3to7 January, 2016 at Prashanti Kutiram, Bengaluru.

The Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA), Bangalore, the Centre of Excellence for Yoga and Yoga Research is organizing the said conference which shall be an ideal platform for exchange of knowledge including technology, thus enabling in achieving a new mile stone in the area of Integrated Health Care System. The Conference makes the beginning of a new era in Integrated Health System, which aims at making healthcare affordable to one and all. The Conference is a galaxy of diversified personalities participating in it.

Mr. K. R. Vaidheeswaran, Joint Secretary, Government of India visit Sahyadri Campus

Mr. K. R. Vaidheeswaran, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, Government of India visited Sahyadri. On his visit he interacted with Prof. Umashankar. B. S., Dean Academics, Mr. Ashwath Rao, Associate Professor and Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering. He was taken around the Campus and he expressed his happiness to see the infrastructure and facilities provided in the College and praised the growth of the institution in such a short span of time. He congratulated the management for introducing the Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH) and the Sahyadri Project Support Scheme (SPSS). He has also promised to render his full support towards the Sahyadri Edu Dreamers R&D Pvt. Ltd.

14 faculty members from Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management are participate in the “21st International conference on Frontiers in yoga Research and Its Application”, with the theme being ‘Integrating Best of East with Best of West in Medical Practice’.

The National Consultative Meet of Vice Chancellors on ‘Yoga Education in Universities’, hosted by S-VYASA, Bengaluru, which has a galaxy of diversified personalities participating also has the faculty members of Sahyadri to volunteer and participate in the same.

This meeting was presided by Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Honorable Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Department of Civil Engineering, Signs MOU with FE Designs

The two days faculty development programme on 'Cype Software and its Application in Civil Engineering’ which concluded at Sahyadri marked the occasion of the Department of civil engineering, signing an MOU with FE Designs, Bengaluru. This facilitates students to learn the Cype Cad software and undergo training so as to enhance their skills and make them industry ready.

The Department of Civil Engineering Heads for Survey Camp


135 students from the department of Civil Engineering are off to a survey camp in Siddapura which will close on16.01.2016. The students are accompanied by 21 staff members. The camp is headed by the camp officer Mr Supreeth Prabhu N and the assistant camp officer Mr Sudeep Shetty. The camp shall expose the students to attain practical inputs and enhance their skills in the stream thereby making them industry ready.

The Faculty Development Programme

The department of Civil Engineering organised a two day faculty development programme on ‘Cype Software and its Application in Civil Engineering’ by Er. Amarnath S N, Proprietor, FE Designs, Bangalore. The faculty members were given training on cype software and a technical talk on “Post tensioned flat slab design and construction" was also delivered by the resource person.

Faculty Member Outshines in the National Umpire exam

Mr. Karnakumar K.S., department of Physical Education, has secured the 15th rank in the BAI Grade II National Badminton Umpire exam organized by the Badminton Association of India, held at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Faculty Member Invited as a Judge

Mr. Naveen Pilaar, Department of Art & Cultute, was invited as the judge for the District level folk dance competition which was a part of the Malpe beach festival.

Faculty Member Presents a Paper

Mr. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science presented a Research Paper titled “Reduction of Sample Impoverishment Problem in Particle Filter for Object Tracking “at the International Conference, 12th IEEE INDICON 2015 at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India.
