Chairman Interacts with Eminent Personalities

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and Mrs. Prasanna Bhandary, Secretary met and interacted with the Mysore Maharaja Yaduveer Wadiyar, Hon'ble Minister and renowned film star Mr. Ambarish, and Mr. Radhakrishna at Bangalore recently.



Mr. Bharath Kumar Addresses the MBA Students

Mr. Bharath Kumar, Business Transformation Programme Director – Arthur J Gallagher International, London, addressed the first year MBA students on the topic "How to face Corporate life" in the Sahyadri Seminar Hall.

In his talk he enlightened the students on facing corporate life. He started his lecture by narrating life incidents where he recalled his childhood days and introduced the concept of systematic learning. He urged the students to learn the art of reading and narrating stories to enhance their self confidence and presentation skills. He mentioned that freedom is associated with responsibility. He guided the students on taking career decisions and encouraged the students to develop skills to differentiate in the job market. There is no dearth for opportunities for students. He motivated the students to be the brand ambassadors of Sahyadri.

Mr. Bharath Kumar has19 years of industry experience with the expertise of working in Insurance, Health Care, Retirement Products, Workers Compensation, F&A and HR, Banking, London Insurance and Re -Insurance Market Operations: covering Broker Operations & Lloyds Back office operations, Occupational Pensions Administration, Property & Asset Management, F&A, HR, Supply Chain/Logistics, and Mobile Banking IT Applications in various countries such as USA, UK, and many more. He has worked in various roles for Xchanging Plc & Cambridge Solutions Ltd.

Bharath Kumar Interacts with SahyadriEdu DREAMERS

Bharath Kumar Business Transformation Programme Director - Arthur J Gallegher International, London during his visit interacted with the core team of SahyadriEdu DREAMERS R&D Pvt. Ltd.

He highlighted their interests and strengths. He shared incidences in his life and set an example to the members to help them achieve their goals.He explained how companies run business and guided the team on how to take the startup forward.

iGearup: A two-day Workshop by Infosys held in the Campus

Hari S, Lead ETA,Infosys inaugurated iGearup the two-day workshop in the Campus. The workshop was held by Infosys chiefly for all the recruited students of the 2016 batch who have been recruited by the company.

Dr. U M Bhushi, Principal presided over the function. Vice Principal,Prof. S SBalakrishna and Dean Academics, Prof. Umashanker B S graced the occasion.Prof. SudheerShetty, HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engineering proposed the vote of thanks.

Basic Sciences, E&C & MBA Staff Cricket Team emerge the Champions in Sahyadri Staff Cricket League

The men’s staff cricket team with members of the Department of Basic Sciences, Electronics & Communication Engineering and the MBA Department has won the Sahyadri Staff Cricket League organized by the Department of Physical Education. The team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering is the runners-up.

GATE-2016 held in Sahyadri

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore (IISc.) conducted the computer-based test for the All-India Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016). A total of 850 candidates from all over the country sat for the exam for various streams like Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Chemical, Architecture, Biotechnology, Mining, Agricultural, Metallurgical, Pharmaceutical Engineering etc.

GATE is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, and Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently, GATE scores are also being used by several Indian public sector undertakings (i.e., government-owned companies) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions. It is one of the most competitive examinations in India.

Capgemini Campus Recruitment Drive

Capgemini online test was held in the campus for the B.E/ B.Tech./ ME / M.Tech. / MCA 2016 passing out batch of students of Sahyadri. 123 students attended the test and 29 are shortlisted for the next round of the recruitment process.

SIMS Recruitment Drive

Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) conducted a pool campus recruitment drive for mechanical engineering students of the 2016 batch in the campus. Seventy-one students participated in the drive. The final results are awaited.

Assistant Physical Director Nominated as Coach

Mr. Karna Kumar, Assistant Physical Director, Department of Physical Education, has been nominated as the coach for the VTU Fencing (Men & Women) team. The games will be held at Punjab University, Chandigarh
