RDL Technologies pitched its innovative VL Glass to over 100 audience and dignitaries. The product was well received and was much appreciated.

Mr. Sai Krishna Initiation of Sahyadri-Pratian innovation ecosystem through up skilling Core team of 8 faculty members  The Sahyadri-Pratian innovation ecosystem initiative has taken its shape through an enriching Core team of 8 faculty members. This core team is currently undergoing rigorous training at Pratian innovation Campus Bengaluru during Jan 28th to Feb 15th which will help Sahyadri in kick starting the new era of innovation. The core team comprises of Dr. Anush Bekal, Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Prof. Savidhan Shetty CS and Prof. Santhosh from the Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Mr. Sandeep Pai, Business Development Manager at RDL; Prof. Naithik ST and Prof. Prakhyath Rai, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and Prof. Harisha, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering.

Twenty MBAs get placed at HDFC Bank

Twenty MBAs get placed at HDFC Bank In the recently held Pool Campus Drive for the position of Personal Banker-Sales, a total of 20 MBA students of Sahyadri have been selected out of the final 34 recruits from the Pool Campus Drive.

HDFC Bank was incorporated in August 1994. As of December 31, 2018, the bank had a nationwide distribution network of 4,963 branches and 13,160 ATM's in 2,727 cities / towns.

Delegates from Ernst & Young LLP visit Sahyadri

Delegates from Ernst & Young LLP visit Sahyadri Mr. Furqan Warsi, Director-FAAS, Learning Solutions and Mr. Asif Chowgule, Assistant Manager-Financial Accounting Advisory Services of Ernst and Young LLP, visited our campus. Mr. Furqan addressed Director-MBA, HOD’s and Deans regarding the various certification programmes offered by EY for MBA and Engineering. He also offered to customize the programme for Sahyadri.

Later Mr. Furqan and Mr. Asif also had a discussion with MBA faculty team regarding making Sahyadri as Nodal Centre for EY courses, placements and offered assistance to conduct Workshops/Seminars, FDP and MDP Programmes.

The EY team also visited the in-house companies & startups and expressed their happiness to experience the learning centre created for students.

Wing Commander Praveen Chandra Pant visited Sahyadri

Wing Commander Praveen Chandra Pant visited Sahyadri Sahyadri is graced by the visit of Wing Commander Praveen Chandra Pant. He is Commanding Officer of the 6 Karnataka Air Squardon, NCC. He discussed about starting a NCC unit at our campus. He met and interacted with the chairman and appreciated the institution’s effort in putting ideas and skill generation into implementation towards building a great nation.

He said that the institution has very intricately modeled the dreamer spirits of the youth into implementable, concrete ideas that can evolve into factual products and services for the society. Furthermore, he expressed his view that the startup cum laboratory-workshop cum entrepreneur collaboration is a perfect setup to get ideas into motion.

Researcher from HAN University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands visits Sahyadri

Researcher from HAN University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands visits Sahyadri Rakshith Kusumakar, Researcher, HAN University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands, visited the campus. During his visit he interacted with the faculty and students of Mechanical Engineering. He gave an overview of various automotive projects that are being carried out at HAN University. He also stressed on the importance of IOT and its application in the intelligent transport systems. Furthermore, he delved into the next generation automobiles that could solve many of the existing challenges. He also discussed about the possible internship opportunities for the students of Sahyadri at HAN University, Netherlands. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is also planning to take up collaborative research projects along with Han University under various Indo-Dutch joint research programmes.

Students and staff pay their respects to the martyrs on Martyr’s DayStudents and staff pay their respects to the martyrs on Martyr’s Day In commemoration of the great sacrifice done by our ancestors, freedom fighters and soldiers for our nation’s freedom, the staff and students paid their respects by observing a 2-minutes silence. Prof. S. Balakrishna, Vice Principal, led the staff in the commemoration.

30th January is the date observed as Martyr's Day at the national level. This date goes down in history as it marks the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948. On this day, the President, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister and three service chiefs gather at the Raj Ghat Memorial and lay wreaths decorated with multi-colour flowers. The armed forces personnel blow bugles sounding the Last Post. The inter-services contingent reverses arms as a mark of respect. A two-minute silence in memory of Indian martyrs is observed throughout the country at 11 am. Tributes are sung and all-religion prayers are held.

Dream Kit by DTi Labz Pvt. Ltd. gets selected to the Nationals of Boeing India Startup Challenge

Dream Kit by DTi Labz Pvt. Ltd Mr. Aashish U S of final year Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mr. Prajwal Shetty of second year Mechanical Engineering also the interns of DTlabz and DTi Labz Private Limited participated in a Startup Hyper-Accelerator programme at Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre in IIT Gandhinagar.

IIT Gandhinagar Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IIEC) is promoted by IIT Gandhinagar to implement the overall strategy of incubation, IP management, commercialization and to implement entrepreneurship and innovation development programs.

The Five-Day Hyper accelerator program was an opportunity for technology start-ups to understand the investors' perspective and an intense program for understanding the topics like Market Validation, Lean Business Models, Fund Raising Techniques, Valuation, Pitch Deck, Due diligence, Term Sheets, Sales and Marketing Plans, Strategic Planning, Intellectual Property, Negotiation and Exit strategy.

On the final day, Mr. Aashish and Mr. Prajwal Shetty received an opportunity to pitch their startup and the product Dream Kit to 3Lines Venture Capital and IITGN Boeing India Start Up Challenge jury panel. The team has been selected in the top 5 start ups shortlisted to participate in the Boeing India Start Up Challenge at the national level. The students were supported and completely funded by DTlabz to attend this event. Students had a great learning experience and exposure throughout the event.

These students took part in events such as Eurekha, Math Olympid, Relic Hunt, Droid Blitz, Laws of motion, Crusade, Zenith, Sand Rover, Snapit, and Workshop. Pranamya A Y, Rakshith Karumbaih and Akshay P N have secured First Prize in Eurekha event i.e Paper presentation on their Innovative Idea.

Resource person Mr. Girish Kulkarni, Deputy Regional Manager –solution sales, Global Information Systems Technology highlighted the use of different E-resources under VTU consortium using a single platform K-nimbus Digital Library Platform. Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal; Dr. Rajesha, Dean Academics; Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean Strategic Planning, the HoD’s and Faculty member of various departments were present for this occasion.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Usha Armour Usha Armour conducted a Recruitment drive for the Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. A total of 46 students participated in the recruitment drive, out of which 11 students were shortlisted for the position of Digital Marketing for the female candidates, and Production & Marketing position for the male candidates, for further rounds of interview.

Campus Recruitment Drive Larsen & Toubro Infotech (LTI) visited Sahyadri to conduct a 2-day Pool Campus Drive for the Computer Science, Information Science, and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing Batch and 2018 passed out batch.

Dr. Rahul P., Campus Recruitment PSC from LTI, was at the campus to facilitate the recruitment process. A total of 163 students from 2019 batch participated in the recruitment drive, out of which, 13 were selected. The results of 2018 passed out batch are awaited.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited (KPTL) Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited (KPTL) visited Sahyadri to conduct a Three-Day Pool Campus Recruitment drive for the Civil, Mechanical and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing Batch. A total of 375 students from pool colleges participated in the recruitment drive, out of which, six Sahyadrians were shortlisted for further rounds.

Campus Recruitment Drive - HDFC Bank

Campus Recruitment Drive - HDFC Bank Mr. Ashok M Rao, Cluster Head, Retail Branch Banking, HDFC Bank; Mr. Pradeep M, Regional HR, HDFC Bank Ltd and Branch Managers of Mangalore branches, visited campus for Pool Campus Hiring of MBA students. The interview was done for the students who were shortlisted in AMCAT exam. 53 Students from Sahyadri, 14 Students from AlMIT and 16 students from School of Management-Manipal participated in the drive. Results are awaited.

Engineering student pledged to donate his Organs


Mr. Vivek Kumar student of Mechanical Engineering took a pledge to donate his organs under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor. He registered his name as a donor in the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). Sahyadri applauds his generous and heroic gesture.

MBAs on Industry Visit to Delhi Metro Museum A total of 26 students along with their Mentors – Prof. Ramesh KG, Prof. Girish M, Prof. Manjunath Kamath and Prof. Samarth Shenoy had been to Delhi Metro Museum as a part of industry visit which is situated at Patel Chowk Metro Station Delhi. Mr. Mukesh Khanna, the museum curator addressed students about the history of metros' in Delhi. Students had an opportunity to see functional miniature model of the machinery which is used to make the metro tunnels and current running metro rail. The Delhi Metro Museum was established in the year 2008. The metro museum showcases the genesis, history and journey of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Museum curator appreciated Sahyadri for such initiative and it was an immense learning experience for the students.
