AVIEL Systems CEO Pradeep Mishra Visits Sahyadri

Mr. Pradeep Mishra, CEO, AVIEL Systems visited the campus and interacted with the Chairman and the Principal. He also had a round of discussions with the senior faculty members and the research core committee.

Members of Sahyadri Edu Dreamers R & D Pvt. Ltd. had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Pradeep Mishra. He shared his ideas and thoughts on how to efficiently plan a proposed project. He advised the members to first access the resources available, estimate the time required to complete a project and set an appropriate budget with a certain deadline. He also suggested dividing the manpower into cells, where each cell consists of people with similar areas of interest, to obtain the best result. He insisted that in order for a company to gain popularity, branding and expanding contacts are paramount. He signed off with the statement that “industries seek students with competency and dedication.

He appreciated all the new unique initiatives of Sahyadri and in particular the commitment of the management to give a real thrust to education as a service to society. He explicitly stated that one must follow one’s passion - it will give immense satisfaction and pleasure to see its achievement.

He reviewed the hands on experience lab, research lab and the start-up companies. He gave directions to the members of the Sahyadri Society of Automotive Engineers in terms of racial competitions, companies and professional bodies working. He also interacted with the research doctorates, HODs and appraised them on how to link education, government and private industries for developing an ecosystem which all can thrive on.

PMKVY JOB & SKILL Training Camp at Sahyadri

Rajesh Naik, owner of Oddor Farms and the Rooman Techologies team visited Sahyadri to discuss with the management the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana job and skill training camp to be held in the campus on the 27th of February 2016.

The VTU Semester III MBA results for the December 2015-16 examinations have been declared with Sahyadri students securing an overall percentage score of 82.41%. Soumya was ranked the highest in the College with 74.56% followed by Sindura H. with 74.22% and Reenu Rebecca John with 73%. Fifteen students obtained a distinction, fifty-four students a first class and twenty students a second class.

MBA Graduation Day Celebrated in the Campus

The Graduation Day for the students of the Department of Business Administration was in the Campus. 90 students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the chief guest Mr. Prahlad Chaudhary, HR Operations Head, JSW Steel Ltd. Parents and relatives of the students were present to witness the event.

Mr. Prahalad was delighted to be a part of the Graduation Day as it brought back memories of his graduation. He stimulated the students to do “Self Searching” that will enable them to go deeper into one’s own strengths, weaknesses and work on improving from time to time. He mentioned that - one should not impose thinking on others but give them a liberty to think themselves. He also emphasized that individuals should speak in the language that never hurts others. He enlightened the students and welcomed them to the world of challenges in HR, Finance and Marketing roles. He shared inspirational stories of his mentors and encouraged the graduates to have mentors till the last day of their life. Practical school starts now and should not hesitate to make mistakes; however continuing to do mistakes is foolishness hence graduates should now involve continuously in the process of learning till the last moment of life. He concluded with an enlightening quote of Swami Vivekananda – “Take risk in life, if you win you will lead and if you lose you will guide.”

Mr. Prahlad Chaudhary, HR Operations Head, JSW Steel Ltd, the chief guest is an HR professional with MBA-HR and vast experience in areas of planning, organizing and implementation of HR interventions in the domain of Talent Management, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Mentorship & buddy programs, Job Analysis & evaluations, Talent Acquisition, Induction & orientation, benchmark people performances and building a learning culture for achieving Business Excellence.

Students shared their experiences of the wonderful period they spent in the Campus and expressed their gratitude to their alma mater. The formal function was followed by a photography session.

Interactive Sessions Conducted by the Department of Mathematics at GHS

The Department of Mathematics as part of the Faculty Development Programme conducted interactive sessions at Government High School, Nada, Belthangady. Mrs. Sharmila, Headmistress of the school welcomed the gathering and initiated the interactive sessions. Faculty members of the Department of Mathematics conducted games related to mathematics like Number Hunt, Rapid Round and Puzzles for the students. The students of the school were spontaneous and enjoyed the games. Mitra K, Head of the Department of Mathematics distributed the prizes to the winners.

Faculty Member Interacts with Honourable Vice Chancellor of VTU

Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering interacted with Prof. Dr. Maheshappa, Vice Chancellor, Vivesvaraya Technological University (VTU) at VTU, Belagavi campus. During his interaction, the Honourable Vice Chancellor praised the efforts of Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and Sahyadri management in starting "Sahyadri Campus Buzz", "Sahyadri Newsletter" & "Sahyadri e-Journal". He also congratulated the management for building a research culture among faculty members. He insisted that research should be strengthened in all VTU affiliated colleges and promised to give his full support to the Karnataka Government Research Centre.

Faculty Member Appointed IT Advisor to VTU

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G., Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been appointed as the IT Advisor to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, on an honorary basis for one year.

A research paper titled “Diophantine Edge Graceful Graph” authored by Dr. S. A. Mariadoss, and Mrs. Sunita Priya D’Silva, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, has been published in the International Journal of recent patents on Computer Science, Volume 8, Issue 2, December 2015.

Faculty Member Attends Winter School on Speech and Audio Processing

Mr. Manjunath Mulimani, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering participated in the "Winter School on Speech and Audio Processing (WiSSAP)-2016" organised by SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. WiSSAP-2016 highlighted the concept of "Speech Prosody". WiSSAP-2016 provided a forum for students, researchers and professionals to enhance their knowledge in speech and audio signal processing.
