Karnataka Chief Minister, Sri. Siddaramaiah and other Dignitaries visit Sahyadri Campus
 
Chief Minister, Sri. Siddaramaiah arrived at the Sahyadri Campus to attend the grand Wedding Ceremony of NRI businessman, Dr. B. R. Shetty’s son, Mr. Binay with Ms. Shivani in the august presence of various dignitaries.
Ministers Sri. Mallikarjun Kharge, Sri. R. V. Deshpande, Sri. Shyamanuru Shivashankarappa, Sri. K J George, Sri. Ramanath Rai, Sri. Pramod Madhwaraj, Sri. Mohiuddin Bava, Sri. Abhayachandra Jain, Sri. Nalin Kumar Kateel among others made it to the wedding.
The Sahyadri Campus was all set to host the big event and greet the attendees.

Ms. Prithvi Shetty, Associate Assurance, PricewaterhouseCoopers visits Sahyadri
Ms. Prithvi Shetty, Associate Assurance, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, San Jose, California accompanied by Mr. Sachin Shetty visited the campus and interacted with the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. Ms. Prithvi Shetty is currently handling the financial statement audits of Venture Capital and Life Sciences firms, with focus on complex transactions in investments and capital accounts at the PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Ms. Prithvi Shetty holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from the Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, and has completed her Master’s Degree in Technology Management from the University of New South Wales. She also holds a Certificate of Advance Accounting Proficiency (CAAP), Accounting and Finance from the Santa Clara University.
Sahyadri Motorsports Team to take part in the BAJA SAE INDIA 2017
Team Sahyadri Motorsports has successfully built its dune buggy for BAJA SAE INDIA 2017 to be held at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh in the month of February 2017. The vehicle was built by a team of our students, part of the Sahyadri SAE collegiate Club automotive sector. Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and Mrs. Prasanna Bhandary, Secretary, Bhandary Foundation, appreciated the team work and the efforts in bringing out this vehicle. This is the fourth vehicle of its kind built at campus by the Sahyadri SAE collegiate club.

AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme for Engineering Students to Present Papers Abroad
An “AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme” for Engineering Students to present papers abroad has been launched for enhancing the quality of engineering education in the country. The objective of the scheme is to provide partial travel assistance and registration fees to Bachelors and Masters Level engineering students for presenting a research paper in an international scientific event (conference/seminar/symposium/workshop/exhibition etc) in order to encourage engineering students to engage in research. The proposal(s) received duly completed in all respects will be evaluated by subject experts.

Dr. C. K. Manjunath invited as the Guest speaker for Friday Lecture Series at MCF
Dr. C K Manjunath, Professor of Humanities & Administrator was invited as the Guest speaker for Friday Lecture Series at MCF, Mangalore. He delivered the lecture on the topic –“Understanding of a Scientist (Dr. APJ) through Human perspectives & Values”. Dr. Manjunath had an opportunity to share his personal experiences he had with Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam to the august gathering. He discussed on topics relating to Dr. APJ’s life journey, achievements, strategies of team building, successful projects, vision towards country's development and as the President of India the decisions that were made and implemented, he being known as the “Missile Man of India” and “People’s President” . The session was attended by all the executives at MCF, including senior team members, engineers and Management Trainees.

Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was felicitated for his research in the area of Computer Vision and Machine Learning by Dr. Millie Pant, Professor, Department of Applied Science & Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R) at Amity University, Jaipur during International Conference on Soft Computing: Theories and Applications (SoCTA 2016).

Chief Reporting team from The New Indian Express, Chennai visits Sahyadri
Mr. Daniel Thimmayya, Chief Reporter at The New Indian Express, Chennai, presently heading a team that pan-network the editorial tabloid called EdEx, and also handles content, production of student Edition of The New Indian Express, across South India.
Mr. K Rakesh, Brand Manager, the New Indian Express, Chennai and Mr. Dhanraj, Marketing Manager, Mangalore Region along with Mr. Daniel Thimmayya interacted with SAE Aero, Motor, Baja Club members and also the DTLabz. Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Media Consultant accompanied the team around the campus in their visit to Hands on Lab, Life Science Lab, Social Innovation Lab, and Aero Design Lab. Mr. Daniel has appreciated the management’s unique initiative of supporting the students through Student Project Support Scheme-SPSS.
