VTU Semester VIII Results: Sahyadri 92.39%

The VTU results of Semester VIII in all Engineering streams offered by the college saw an impressive percentage score in the recently held examinations. Out of 486 students who took the VTU Examination 2014-15, 257 passed with distinction and 175 with a first class, and 17 with a second class, bringing the overall percentage score to 92.39%.

The Department of Information Science & Engineering secured 100 percent results standing atop the rest. Thirty-one students took the examination with 19 students securing a distinction, 10 students a first class and two students a second class.

While in the Civil Engineering discipline thirty-four students out of 59 obtained a distinction, twenty students obtained a first class and two students a second class bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 94.92%. Likewise out of 142 students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, eighty-five students secured a distinction, forty-three a first class and three students obtained a second class, bringing the overall percentage score to 92.25%.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering recorded 91.13 percent results with 142 students taking the examination out of which fifty-five students passed with distinction, and fifty-five with a first class and three students obtaining a second class. Electronics and Communication Engineering secured 90.77 percent. One hundred and thirty students took the exam and among them sixty-four students secured a distinction, and forty-seven students obtained a first class and seven students a second class.

Sumithra V. Bhandarkar with 78.67% has topped the Sahyadri College in the MCA, Semester IV Examination of 2014 -15 held by VTU. Devadiga Mahesh Nagesh obtained the second position in the college with 76.95% while Priya with 76.38% stands third. Out of forty students who took the examination, twenty secured a first class with distinction and twelve secured a first class, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 80%.

Rakshith K. M. with 79.90% has topped the Sahyadri College in the MCA, Semester II Examination of 2014 -15 held by VTU. Ramya obtained the second position in the college with 78.95% while Dhanushree with 77.81% stands third. Out of twenty-four students who sat for the examination, fourteen secured a first class with distinction, and eight students secured a first class, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 83.33%.

SPSS Project Work Published as Research Paper in IEEE Xplore

MBA Director in International Editorial Board of Associated Asia Research Foundation

Dr A. P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration has been appointed as member of the International Editorial Board of Associated Asia Research Foundation to review research articles for publication in International Research Journal of Human Resources and Social Sciences.

International Research Journal of Human Resources and Social Sciences (IRJHRSS) is a double blind peer reviewed and a monthlyrefereed international journal that provides rapid publication of articles in all areas of human resources, social sciences and their applications.

Silver Partner Recognition for Faculty Member by Infosys

Mrs. Mehanaz Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been recognized as the `Silver Partner Faculty’ under Inspire – The Campus Connect Faculty Partnership Model by the Campus Connect team, Education, Training and Assessment, Infosys Limited, Mangaluru. She was felicitated during the Inspire Excellence award event held at the Infosys office in Mangaluru.

During the Inspire Excellence award event, an event called Content Guru was held. Mrs. Mehanaz Begum, and Mrs. Sadhana, Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, actively participated in the event. They had to submit any artifacts which they had created and deployed in order to enhance the course delivery and student learning effectiveness for all the Campus Connect Partnered colleges who had been selected by the Infosys jury.

Mrs. Sadhana Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering attended a three-day workshop on "Research Issues in Green Cloud Computing" organized by the Department of IT, NITK- Surathkal.
