Bhandary Foundation Recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by DST, Govt. Of India Bhandary Foundation is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization under Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) based on Industrial research programmes conducted in its constituents college Viz: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru and all other developments in the Institution. The department has observed the infrastructure facilities provided, work undertaken and the vision of the foundation.

The scientific and Industry-oriented activities, research-oriented teaching & training programmes, projects undertaken with the financial assistance from various Govt. agencies like DST/AICTE/DRDO/VGST and other industries, Patents filed by the Institution, industrial & entrepreneurial activities organized are the various milestones that brought this recognition to the institute.

Bhandary Foundation, founded during the year 2002, in a short span of time has emerged as an enterprising entity in the field of education and social activities. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary Chairman's novel thoughts added a new dimension to the world of education.

Sahyadri – a Recognized Virtual Lab Nodal Centre

Sahyadri – a Recognized Virtual Lab Nodal Centre Sahyadri has been recognized as a Nodal Centre for conducting activities pertaining to Virtual Labs by NITK, Surathkal. Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). This project is a consortium activity of twelve participating institutes (which includes many IITs and NITs) and IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi is the coordinating institute at the national level. NITK, Surathkal is one of the twelve participating institutes. The Virtual Labs project by MHRD highlights a paradigm shift in ICT based education. Virtual Labs do not require any additional infrastructural setup for conducting experiments at user premises. The simulation based experiments can be accessed remotely via internet. There will be no financial liability on any party for Virtual lab facility. It is free to use.

An expression of interest for setting up a Nodal Centre at Sahyadri was recently submitted and it was considered positively by NITK Virtual Labs centre. Departments like ECE, EE, CSE/IT, ME and Applied Sciences (Physical Sciences & Chemical Sciences) can now utilize the benefits of setting up this lab and they can contribute to Virtual Labs project by developing new experiments. Nodal centres can conduct regular workshops and demonstrate the Virtual Labs to the students and teachers of the colleges nearby. Virtual Labs platform helps students to understand the difficult concepts through conducting virtual experiments.

Students from Dtlabz earn internship at Workbench Projects, Bengaluru

DTlabz Members - Mr. Swastik Kotian of 3rd year Mechanical Engineering and Mr. Abhilash Suvarna of 2nd year Mechanical Engineering have been offered an internship with Workbench Projects, Bengaluru a space for thirsty makers, innovators, tinkerers and also one of the foremost Makerspace in India. In the process, they will be learning the cultures of Makerspaces, skills and creative development which will help them to build things and involve themselves in Innovation projects relating to social causes.

TCS company-specific Training for Final Year Students

TCS company-specific Training for Final Year Students Eight-Day TCS company-specific training has commenced from 4th July’19 for the final year students of all branches. Over 180 students have been attending the training. This training concentrates on Technical Proficiency, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Students are also trained on Interview Preparation including Resume Building and Mock Interviews. Mr. Naveen Chand Kattepogu, Managing Director from Mission Ignite addressed the students on the 1st day. He briefed the students on the overall schedule of the training programme.

Mr. Subramanian S, Senior Campus Ambassador-HR accompanied with Ms. Sakshi Pant interacted with the TPO’s of various colleges and explained about the placement prospects to them. He also stressed on the need for communication and marketing skills for getting a job offer at Jaro. The job profile, salary package, qualification details, opportunities for the professional growth in the company and other benefits were discussed. They have also come up with a lucrative compensation structure to their prospective employees.

Mr. Subramanian emphasized on the fact that the company scouts for professionals who have exposure or knowledge related to International Business culture and Management.

The Startupreneur is an impact venture working towards building a comprehensive ecosystem for educational institutions, corporate and government organisations to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.

MBA Student secures paid internship at Mphasis Limited Bengaluru

Venezia Saldanha from 2nd year MBA has been selected for a Two-Month internship at Mphasis Limited Bengaluru effective Jul 11th’19. She will be mentored by Mr. Vidyaranya Kollipal, AVP-HR and would be working in the HR Department with enormous scope of learning on the end-to-end HR process.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Amazon Amazon Mega recruitment drive was conducted on 11th July '19 in Sahyadri Campus for the freshers & experienced candidates from Mangaluru. More than 180 candidates participated in the drive making it a successful recruitment for Amazon. The rounds conducted were Aptitude and online test. Mr. Murali Manoj R, Recruiter - HR was at the campus to facilitate the entire process. The final offers will be announced on 12th July'19.

A total of 105 new entrants attended a Five-Day Outbound Experiential Workshop “Understanding Me”, organized by Nature Bound Sahyadri at Ankola during 8th July to 12th July, 2019. The event was a part of the extended Bridge Course for the students. The workshop focused on experiential learning module to reveal the students strengths and shortfalls, how to overcome these deficits and focus on developing character suitable for accepting responsibility, develop concern, courage, and positive attitude.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Amazon Thilak V S, a member of Dtlabz currently in 2nd year Mechanical Engineering has been offered an internship at Lohatec LLp in Bejai, Mangaluru - incubated under K-tech Innovation Hub. It is a space for idea stage entities to test and build new ideas and products, a dedicated incubation space for Start-ups and also provides physical workspace for innovations.

During internship, Thilak will be trained with the process of designing mechanical components, working on CNC milling, 3D printing, Laser cutting and Engraving, manufacture quality machine components and precision parts. His primary project is to design the parts for the modification of bikes and components for the mould. It is a great opportunity to learn the process of designing, developing and manufacturing quality products.

DTi Labz Private Limited has been pre-incubated by Launchpad of NSRCEL, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. In this programme, the venture is engaged in the mentoring session by entrepreneurs, industry professionals, product experts, and IIMB academicians.
