Sahyadrians excel at “Srishti”, a State Level Project Exhibition held at RVCE, Bengaluru

Sahyadrians-excel-at-“Srishti”,-a-State-Level-Project-Exhibition-held-at-RVCE,-Bengaluru Out of 500+ projects exhibited from various engineering colleges all over Karnataka, Sahyadrians have topped by securing 1st & 2nd places in all the three events at “Srishti”, a state level project exhibition held at RVCE, Bengaluru. Twenty One students participated in this event that was held during 26th - 28th May 2017 by ABVP.

CSE Project wins First Place in “Srishti 2017”

CSE-Project-wins-First-Place-in-“Srishti-2017” The final year students of Computer Science and Engineering exhibited a project titled - "Aptitude Engine" guided by Prof. Shetty Mamatha Gopal has won First Place in “Srishti 2017” among the 500 projects exhibited. This event was held in R.V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru. The Department of Computer Science Engineering congratulates the winners & Wishes them success in future.

Officials from KSFC, Mangaluru visit Sahyadri

Mr. G V Chandra Kumar, Deputy General Manager & Mr. A R Nagesh, Senior Manager from Karnataka State Financial Corporation (KSFC), Mangaluru visited Sahyadri and interacted with the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. They were keen on taking a Campus tour and also held technical discussion during their visit.

Faculty-members-of-AIIMS,-New-Delhi-&-AIIMS,-Jodhpur-visit-Sahyadri Dr. Vidya Sagar Chhabra, faculty of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and Dr. Akshay Kumar, Asst. Professor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur visited Sahyadri and interacted with Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation, Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal and Prof. Sudheer Shetty, HoD of Computer Science and Engineering. They discussed in detail about the current system of Indian education, the various parameters influencing the education system, conducting exams and the transformation required. They appreciated the Chairman, Mr. Manjunarth Bhandary as he is at the helm of the institution and making steady progress. They had a campus tour and were delighted to see the Research facilities & Start-Ups, Hands-On Experience Lab and the overall infrastructure which stimulates students to be innovative. The AIIMS MBBS online entrance examination was conducted in Sahyadri under their guidance. Around 560 students from all over the country appeared for the exam. AIIMS exam is one of the most competitive examinations in India and it is a great honour for Sahyadri to be the venue of this exam.

Valedictory Ceremony of Value Added Course by Mechanical Engineering Department

Valedictory-Ceremony-of-Value-Added-Course-by-Mechanical-Engineering-Department A Sixty-Hours Value Added Course on CATIA for sixth semester and AutoCAD for fourth semester organized by Mechanical Engineering Department concluded with a valedictory programme. This value added course aimed at providing students a comprehensive idea about industrial drawings and their application in designing and manufacturing fields which can bridge the gap between academics and industry to a greater extent. The programme started with an introductory remark by Prof. Mahesh B Davanageri. Dr. J V Gorabal inspired the audience with his inspirational talk, Prof. S S Balakrishna enlightened the gathering about the importance of updating technological skills to compete with the current Techno-world. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi gave insights on the importance of the course through examples. He eulogized the department for its initiatives. On completion of the programme, students were issued certificates. The programme was facilitated by Prof. Rakshith H S, Prof. Kiran Prakasha A, Prof. Shivakumar, Prof. Kishore D J & Prof. Vinay B U, Mechanical Engineering Department.

Mr. Chetan B V from the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process. Mahindra and Mahindra Limited (M&M) is an Indian multinational automobile manufacturing corporation headquartered in Mumbai. It is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers by production in India and the largest manufacturer of tractors in the world. It is a part of Mahindra Group, an Indian conglomerate. OBITUARY

Mr. Umesh Rao, Foreman, Dept of Mechanical Engineering passed away on Sunday, May 28th 2017 owing to prolonged illness. Sahyadri family deeply mourns the sad demise of Mr. Umesh Rao who has rendered valuable service to the institution. He joined Sahyadri in the year 2009. Prior to his stint at Sahyadri, he worked as a lecturer at KPT, Mangaluru and as Principal at RNS Polytechnic. He held a deep passion for teaching. We pray to God almighty to give strength to his family to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace.
