Pool Campus Recruitment Drive - Pricewaterhouse Coopers
ABC for Technology Training which recruits for Pricewaterhouse Coopers conducted Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for the engineering students of 2018 outgoing batch at Sahyadri. Mr. Sameer Pasha & Mr. Sufiyan Khan Learning consultants from the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the entire process. A total of 18 students attended the drive & the results are awaited.

Josh Blandi, CEO gave an introductory talk about UniCourt and their engineering initiatives.
Mr. Yongxin Yan, VP Analytics discussed the use of AI & Machine Learning in Legal Data followed by Mr. Prashanth Shenoy, CTO addressing the gathering. The session concluded with the Q&A wherein the staff and students clarified their queries.
Sahyadri Faculty conduct training for Elementary School Teachers at Joyland School
Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor and Mr. Navin Pillar, Head of Dept. of Art and Culture facilitated a Skill Enhancement Training Programme for Teachers of Elementary Level School at St. Joseph Joyland School, Kollya, Mangaluru. The training programme was an initiative of NSS unit and Sahyadri Health Centre as an Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and Community building exercise of Sahyadri. The training was held with an objective of equipping the teachers of nursery, LKG, Elementary and High School with Skills of Counselling and use of Art and Craft for teaching and learning. Mr. Ankith S Kumar trained the teachers on basics of counselling and problem identification. Mr. Navin Pillar trained the teachers in the effective use of Art and Craft in teaching method to help the teachers reach out to their students in a most efficient manner. The workshop was well received and the school requested Sahyadri to mentor it in innovative Teaching Pedagogy.
Sahyadrians get Internship at NSRCEL IIMB, Bengaluru
Monisha Tarkar from 2nd Year Computer Science & Engineering was provided with an opportunity to work in Women Start-up Programme 2018 at NSRCEL IIMB which is one of the India’s top start-up incubators. She helped the team in managing the boot camp which saw participation from 200 women entrepreneurs across the country.
Sagar K Devadiga from 3rd year Mechanical Engineering, Intern-DTlabz will be interning in a start-up named Superheroes Incorporated which is backed by NSRCEL IIMB. He will be conducting various events for students. Superheroes Incorporated is one of the top 8 not-for-profit organizations incubated under the programme named NSRCEL Social supported by Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. It helps vocational students in India to get better jobs by enabling their soft skills.
Gautham Nayak, Co-founder of DTlabz and Sudesh Acharya from 3rd year Mechanical Engineering will be interning in a start-up named Trashcon which is backed by NSRCEL IIMB. Both will be helping the organization in mechanical design and simulation. Trashcon is the manufacturer and supplier of solid waste segregators and is one of the top 5 start-ups across India selected by Israel Embassy and also has been selected as top 5 start-ups of Shell E4 Acceleration programme.
Started with the motive to help Sahyadrians bring their dreams to reality, Sahyadri Edu DREAMERS R&D Pvt Ltd has been working relentlessly since 2015. It has been providing hands on experience in technology, exposure to events, team building and much more to the students. The above interns are the result of the diligent effort by the team.
These interns were channelized through Shreya M from DREAMERS who is currently working at NSRCEL IIMB. She is currently handling Pre-Incubation Programme and Community Engagements at NSRCEL IIMB.

Elsevier Publication has awarded Dr. Ravichandra Rangappa, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering & also the NBA Chief Coordinator of Sahyadri in recognition for contributions made to the quality of "Energy" Journal. "Energy" Journal is one of the Scopus indexed Premier Journal under Energy and Pollution with H-Index of 134. They had been maintaining 1st Quartile since 1997 (For two decades). Sahyadrian selected as Campus Brand Ambassador of MySmartPrice
Sapna Kumari Goad from 2nd year Information Science & Engineering has been selected as the Campus Ambassador of MySmartPrice in Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management after clearing 2 rounds of interview. She is also an active member of Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) – Technical club of Sahyadri which is affiliated with Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, OWASP programs etc. SOSC aims to create a student community to promote technological research and development. Along with the help of student clubs and start-ups, SOSC conducts technical workshops regularly to upskill students and introduce them to technologies.

CSE Faculty receives 100% Travel Grant from UGC for presenting a Paper at an International Conference in Taiwan
Dr. Pushpalatha K, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering presented a research paper titled - “A New Multimedia Documents Clustering Approach based on Feature Patterns Similarity” in the 19th IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia (ISM2017) at Taichung, Taiwan and has received 100% Travel Grant from UGC for attending and presenting at this conference.

Doctors from Fr. Muller Hospital to visit the campus once a week every Friday to provide free OPD service
 Sahyadri campus will have doctors visiting from Fr. Muller Hospital, Thumbay to provide free Out-patient Services to the staff and students every Friday from 10:00am to 01:00pm. They will provide free general check up and medical consultations for the staff and students at the Sahyadri Health and Counselling Centre located in the Ground Floor of the main building. This arrangement is the outcome of the MoU between Sahyadri and the Hospital. For Doctor’s appointments please contact Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, Sahyadri Health and Counselling Centre.
