Mr. Raghavendra G. Shetty, CEO, RDL Technologies Pvt Ltd gave insights on importance of Industrial IoT, and its real time applications. Dr. Anush Bekal briefed about activities of the future skill group, reasons behind forming the group and roles and responsibilities of the members.

Bunts Premier League 2019 Concludes at Sahyadri Bunts Premier League 2019 Concludes at Sahyadri “Tulunad Tigers” owned by Cine Star Rakshith Shetty emerged as the Winners and “Mangaluru Bulls” owned by Nithin Shetty as the Runners Up in the Bunts Premier League 2019, out of the eight Franchise Teams who played a Two-Day ten over each Cricket Tournament Season 1 at Sahyadri River Side Cricket Ground.

Tenth Graduation Day of the MBA students celebrated in the Campus The Tenth Graduation Day for the graduating students of MBA was held in the campus. One Hundred & Seventy Eight students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the Guests – Mr. Edwin Moses, Group Vice-President, Oracle, Bengaluru and Mr. Krishnaraj Tantri, Senior Vice-President, South and South East Asia, Global Payments, Mumbai. Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA welcomed the gathering and gave a glimpse of the College and the Department. While enumerating the achievements of the outgoing batch, she took great pride in relating the growth story of the Department.

The graduating candidates were presented by Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning and Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice-Principal lead them in the oath taking ceremony. These students then volunteered to share their experiences about the course of their study at Sahyadri and also assured of joining hands with the institution in the form of industry-academia connects that shall contribute to the growth of the institution.

He has worked with companies across multiple industry segments; Automotive, Specialized Tooling, Management Consulting, Telecom & Banking. His responsibilities have been at both operational and leadership levels in functions as diverse as Manufacturing, Sales, Product Management, and After Sales Service & Engineering Delivery. An avid reader, a 'hungry learner' and a constant believer that there are miles to go before one can sleep.

While addressing the gathering whom Mr. Edwin Moses referred to as the Millennials, highlighted the one common factor among all was the need to be successful. Success is not how fast you run to achieve it but how long you last in it. He also shared tips to last long in a successful state – Have Passion in whatever you do, Do it with Perfection and Have clear Purpose of life. He referred to Passion as finding yourself and Purpose as losing yourself.

He has successfully managed Multiple System and Operational Migration/s. He has been the President’s Club winner for the last 5 consecutive years, one of the prestigious awards being honoured to the top performers and recognized on global platform.

Mr. Krishnaraj while addressing the graduates, highlighted the key 3 factors that contribute to success – Uphold highest level of integrity, Need for strategic planning and risk taking ability. He urged students to shift their ideology from “Why me” to “Try Me”. He appreciated Sahyadri for nurturing & moulding the students to fulfil their dreams. Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal, in his presidential remarks appreciated the department for contributing talents to the nation, year after year, who not only do well for themselves but also for Sahyadri as they raise high the banners of the institution they graduate from.

Tenth Graduation Day of the MBA students celebrated in the Campus Parents and relatives of students were also present to support their children/ward on this momentous occasion. It is a moment of pride for the parents who look on with satisfaction as an academic degree is conferred on their child.

Outgoing Students of MBA Bid Adieu Outgoing Students of MBA Bid Adieu The outgoing Batch of MBA (2017-2019) was bid adieu in a farewell programme organized by the junior students of the department. Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA welcomed the gathering and enlisted the achievements of the department. Ms. Runa Pinto read out the annual report and briefed the audience on the events conducted by Sahyadri Management Students Association for the year 2018-2019. Prof. Sushma V announced the achievers of the year and the students were felicitated under 11 different categories.

The outgoing students shared their experience and expressed their gratitude to the faculty members, Director, the institution and the Chairman for making their journey wonderful. The junior students also organized a cultural programme to entertain the gathering and made it a day to remember.

Faculty successfully defends her Ph.D

Faculty presents paper and bags best Paper award Mrs. Joyline Gemine Dsa, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has successfully defended her Thesis on “Fabrication and characterization of drug delivery devices for their application in controlled release" for the doctoral degree at IIIT-Allahabad. She will be awarded Ph.D degree at IIIT-A, during the convocation to be held on 14th September 2019.

Singh. During her research she has published 4 international journals (SCI) and 2 international conference Papers.

JCI India holds a One-Day Training on Individual Development for its Members at Sahyadri JCI India holds a One-Day Training on Individual Development for its Members at Sahyadri Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA was invited as a Guest of Honour for the inaugural ceremony of a “One-Day Training on Individual Development” organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) India for its members at Sahyadri. The Training was facilitated by JCI Sen MB Sadashiva, State Trainer & a Motivational Speaker and JCI Sen Soujanya Hegde, Provisional National Trainer.

Sushma, while addressing the members of JCI, mentioned how fortunate she feels to be associated with Sahyadri and remembered the words of Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary – “Sahyadri is not mine or yours, it is for the society”. He has always supported events like these to be organized in the campus by which majority of people get benefitted. She stimulated the participants to develop interest towards life-long learning as its opens doors for new opportunities. Prof. Sushma V is the President of JCI Mangalore Disha for the year 2019.

Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) recognition is the greatest honour that can be earned by a member of Toastmasters International. This award is given only to those toastmasters who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and communication skills and who have used these skills to help others in their self- development efforts.

Dr. Molly Chaudhuri had the opportunity of interacting with Ms. Lark Doley, CEO of Toastmasters International, USA and discussing about the growth of Sahyadri Toastmasters Club.

Dr. Molly Chaudhuri is now a Distinguished Toastmaster  Dr. Molly Chaudhuri also had the opportunity of interacting with, and introducing Dr. Akkai Padmashali, a male to female transwoman; social activist; co-founder of 'Ondede’ an organization for the rights of children, women and transgenders; winner of Karnataka Rajyotsava award, Ashoka global fellowship award, and Limca award for her album, 'Songs of caravan'. She was an invitee of the US Government for International Visitor Leadership Program for Gender based violence across the globe and visited the White House to raise issues about Transgender and Sexual Minorities.

Mr. A. Deviprasad Shetty, Director, FKCCI visits Sahyadri Sahyadri has had the privilege of hosting several A-List personalities ever so often in the past. Accordingly today, Mr. A. Deviprasad Shetty, Partner Divogas, and Director, Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), visited Sahyadri. He was accompanied by Mr. M.G. Balakrishna and Mr. M.G. Ravikumar, partners of Maagam Group. Mr. M.G. Balakrishna, is also the Director of Federation of FKCCI and holds several key positions in various federations and associations. A special mention is that all the three guests of today are actively involved in the LPG business.

Our Chairman – Mr. Manjunath Bhandary warmly welcomed the guests at the campus. He accompanied the guests around the campus and talked about the great achievements of Sahyadri. The guests visited various departments, innovation centres and startups and interacted with the management and faculty.

The guests were fascinated with the student-centric initiatives undertaken by the college and had nothing but deep admiration for the unique education system established at Sahyadri. They were deeply impressed with the sophisticated and substantial infrastructure of the college too!

In this context, he said – Early Diagnosis is hard but the cure is easy, however later Diagnosis is easy, but the cure is difficult. Hence, urged the team to gear up in order to overcome the challenges in the Educational Sector. Sahyadri Toastmasters club bags Spirit of 92 award Sahyadri Toastmasters Club was awarded the Spirit of 92 award at the Toastmasters Annual District 92 Conference, 'Coronation-2019', held at The Taj hotel, Bengaluru. This award is given to Toastmasters clubs who secure Five Distinguished Club points and retain a membership of minimum 20 members. Currently, Sahyadri Toastmasters Club has 10 distinguished Club points and is on the way to becoming the President's Distinguished Club in the first year of its existence.

MBAs undergo Training on Cold Calling to generate leads for Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP  Dr. Sharan Shetty, Financial Advisor of Sahyadri Capital Advisors LLP; Prof. Sushma V and Prof. Suchithra, Dept. of Business Administration facilitated Training for the students of MBA on Cold Calling in order to reach out to Sahyadri Staff in terms of various offers available to them – Equities, Mutual Fund and Free DMAT Account Opening. Students were guided on Call Script, Flow of speech, intonation, rapport building and fixing appointments with prospective customers. It was a new experience for the students as Mock calls were also a part of the training.
