Rashtriya Ekata Divas Celebrated
On account of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, “Rashtriya Ekata Divas” was celebrated in the Campus. Brig. Ichlampady Nanhappa Rai, Chairman, Organizing Committee of D.K. District Ex- Service Men’s Association was the Chief Guest of the program. Brig. I. N. Rai appreciated the infrastructure of the college and admired the art and culture which is seen in and around the campus. He shared his experience of his childhood days when India got independence, the days he spent in army, the war experience and he also said that there is no religion all are same and every Indian should be united and should listen to inner voice of self so that they can avoid the wrong and negative aspects in their life. By doing so we will learn self respect. He also said that we should have true love towards our nation by respecting the National Flag, the National Anthem, our soldiers and our country.

Zonal Level Competitions of Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 held at Various PU Colleges
The Zonal Level Competitions of Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 were held at, Sri JCBM College, Sringeri and GHSS-Kuttamath, Kasaragod. Prof. J.S. Shanubagh inaugurated the program at Sri JCBM College. Dr. H.C. Veerappa Gowda, Principal, Sri JCBM College presided over the function. Mr. Sunil, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Media Consultant, Aptra Technologies, were the Guests of Honour. The student team comprising of Johnson Tellis, Amith, Ravali, Neha Dutt and Jagath coordinated and judged the events.
Prof. Sudheer Shetty, HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management inaugurated the program at GHSS, Kuttamath, Kasaragod. Prof. Balakrishnan, Principal, GHSS-Kuttamath presided over the function. Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Media Consultant, Aptra Technologies, was the Guest of Honour. The student team comprising of Veer Jain, Sheetal and Yaduraj coordinated and judged the events.
The events witnessed good number of quality projects and models in both the centers. The essay writings and quiz competitions also attracted the crowd.

In his inaugural address, he explained the rich ancestry of Indians in Science and Technology and appealed the students to go back to our ancestral way of learning through practice, analytical thinking and experience. Sri. Govindan, Principal, GHSS Hosdurg, presided over the function. Mr. Prasad Chandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Aptra, were Guests of Honour. The student team comprising of Prithviraj Shetty, Aneesh and Yaduraj coordinated and judged the events. The events witnessed good number of quality projects and models in both the centers. Prof. Bhavanishankar, Vice Principal, Aurobindo Independent PU College, was the president of the function. Mr. Janardhana D. R., Assistant Professor, Department of Information Science & Engineering, and Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management coordinated the guests. All the faculty members greatly appreciated Sahyadri growth and students appreciated the facilities available at Sahyadri.

Dr. Smitha Hegde, HoD, Department of Bio-Technology, St. Aloysius College inaugurated the program. Dr. Manjunath, Principal, Yenepoya PU College was the president of the function. Prof. Abdul Kareem motivated the students to take up the project and Research works and assured full support of Sahyadri family towards realizing the project and Research works. Ms. Krithi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Mrs. Mehnaz, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, and Mr. Vasanth, Aptra, coordinated the events. The students participated with great spirit and enthusiasm. The students participated with great spirit and enthusiasm in all the centres.

Two-day Enablement Workshop by Wipro Technologies Held in the Campus
The two-day Enablement Workshop by Mr. Mohan Kumar, Practice Head at Wipro Technologies & Team conducted the workshop. The first session was about the company profile of Wipro. He also emphasized on the forces driving business and the advantages of technologies. The session comprised technical skills, commodity skills and niche skills. The afternoon session concentrated more on soft skill which is very essential for the corporate world. 120 Students of Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Master of Computer Applications were present for the session.
The second day of Enablement Workshop was conducted for MBA students by Mr. Mohan Kumar, Practice Head at Wipro Technologies & team, The first session was about the company profile of Wipro, opportunities in Finance, Marketing and HR. Mock test was conducted for students. The sessions were insightful and it emphasized on customer centricity with case studies, aspects of CRM, customer experience and paradigm shift to customer centricity. It was enriched with more experiential learning.

Mr. Nitin Badak, Assistant Manager-HR, LG Soft India Private Ltd. visited the Campus for a recruitment drive for MBA students. Ms. Pooja Rai and Ms. Sophia Rodrigues, second year MBA students, have been selected as HR Management Trainee. Sahyadri is the first campus that LG Soft India Private Ltd. visited in the South apart from IIMs and IITs, where they normally recruit students through campus recruitment drive.

Sahyadri P. U. Students Runners-Up at
“AVISHKAR – 2014”
Sahyadri P. U. Students won the Over-all Runners-up Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- at “Avishkar – 2014,” a State Level Inter-Collegiate Science and Variety Competition for P.U. Science Students organized by Karavali Institute of Technology, Mangalore.
The winners are: “Science Model Making”: I Place – Harshitha & Deepa, “Best of Waste”: I Place – Anusha & Nisha, “Treasure Hunt”: I Place – Pavan, Shreyas, Akash, Zaibunnisa, Sonia, Vandana, Razila & Harshitha and “Technology Launch”: III Place – Pavan, Shreyas & Akash.
Rakshith, Rameeza, Kripali, Avarnya, Dhanusha, Saziya, Shariya, Neha and Spoorthi were the other members of the team. The students were ably guided by Ms. Neesha, Physics Faculty of Sahyadri P. U. College.
