Sahyadri has been selected to establish the Institute Innovation Council (IIC) as per MHRD, GOI
 
As per the norms and directives of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has been selected for establishing the Institute Innovation Council (IIC).
Dr. Manjappa Sarathi Director-R&D and President of IIC at Sahyadri and Dr. Anush Bekal, Associate Professor, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Convener of IIC at Sahyadri received the Institution Certificate in the august presence of Dr. M. P. Poonia, Vice-Chairman; All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), at its Headquarters in New Delhi.

Sahyadri gets accreditation from The Institution of Engineers (India), IEI, Kolkata
The Institution of Engineers (India) IEI, a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology has accredited all engineering programs i.e., Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Science & Engineering offered at Sahyadri.
This accreditation will enable our students to become corporate members of IEI at the completion of their programs.
Sahyadri holds One Day Training on Blockchain
 
One-day Training on Blockchain organized by K-Tech Innovation Hub (NAIN), Govt. of Karnataka was held at the campus in association with Department of Computer Science & Engineering, DTILABZ Pvt. Ltd., Aptra Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Sahyadri Centre for Cloud Computing and Cyber Security (S4CS).
Mr. Koshikraj, Blockchain advisor at UNITESERVE was the resource person. Mr. Koshikraj started working for a security firm during and after completing his masters’ degree from Manipal University. While there, he worked closely in the DevOps team for over a year. RSA gave him a lot of exposure to the security industry. Later, he started working as a senior software engineer in a startup called CoWrks where he gained a lot of exposure as a full-stack developer and in managing the team. After CoWrks, he devoted all his time to research on Blockchain. Mr Koshik Raj is an alumnus of Sahaydri.
The training program started with a formal inauguration. Dr. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal, Dr. Rajesha S., Dean (Academics), Dr. J.V. Gorabal, HoD, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), faculties of CSE and ISE were present.
The training program was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on theoretical aspects of Blockchain and Algorithm associated with Blockchain. Second, was a practical session fully focused on Smart Contract and Ethereum.
Nearly 40 students participated, who were truly benefited by this training program.
Dr. Vishal Samartha concludes the International Conference on Advanced IT, Engineering and Management at AIMIT
 
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA was invited as the guest for the Valedictory function of the Intentional Conference on Advanced IT, Engineering and Management held at St. Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, Beeri Campus, Mangaluru. She congratulated the large number of paper presenters and appreciated the Faculty team in motivating the students to present research papers and for getting it published in UGC approved Journals. The papers presented were related to Machine Learning, IOT, Artificial intelligence, NLP, usage of algorithms and so on. The Post Graduate students of Bioinformatics, Software Technology, Computer Applications and Data Sciences eagerly paid attention to Dr. Vishal Samartha. In her speech, she said that country requires students with these hard skills. She urged them to develop Apps with a human touch because the ultimate user is to be kept in mind when making these Apps. She motivated the Generation Z to make innovations when in campus and to not let it die down on a research paper but rather take it to completion stage in the form of a product or service and thereby be job creators than job seekers.
Sahyadrians secure 1st place in Yuvajanotsava 2018-19 held at Sullia
 
Sahyadrians had participated in the District Level Cultural Fest organized by Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports of Karnataka - Yuvajanotsava 2018-19 at Sullia and have secured 1st place in all the categories. The team is now selected for State Level Event.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Wipro
 
Wipro conducted the National Level Talent Hunt (NLTH) for Elite Hiring 2019 Engineering Graduates at Sahyadri for two days, to select the bright talents across the country. Sahyadri was one of the nodal centres for conducting the Wipro online test. More than 800 students from pool colleges participated in the online assessment. The results are awaited.
Campus Recruitment Drive – Pathfront
Pathfront visited Sahyadri to conduct a Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students of Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering & MBA students of 2019 outgoing batch. Mr. Vijay Balaji, Head - Talent Acquisition accompanied by Mr. Julius Crasta from the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the recruitment process. A total of 51 students attended the drive and the results are awaited.

Peol Technologies conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive for the Computer Science & Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering & M.Tech students of 2019 outgoing batch. The results are awaited.
Campus Recruitment Drive - Caliber Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Caliber Technologies Pvt. Ltd. conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive for the 2019 outgoing batch of Engineering students of the Computer Science, Information Science, and Electronics & Communication branches. Ms. Iffath Sulthana, Senior HR Manager accompanied by Mr. Pradeep Jeevaji, Manager – Products, from the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the entire process. A total of 89 students attended the drive, out of which, 10 students were shortlisted by the company for further rounds of interview.

Twelve students of first year engineering clan Udgam participated in 'Saturnalia', an annual Technical Fest organized by Thapar University, Patiala.

Sahyadri Sports Faculty nominated as a Coach of the Badminton Men's Team for VTU, Belagavi YR2018
Mr. Karnakumar K S, Dept of Physical Education has been nominated as a Coach of the Badminton Men's Team for VTU, Belagavi for the year 2018. The South Zone Inter-university Badminton Tournament is scheduled to be held duting 21st to 26th November, 2018 at SRM, University, Chennai (TN).
President of the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa visits Sahyadri
Swami Sumanasananda, President of the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa visited Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. Chairman, Mr Manjunath Bhandary received him warmly and extended to him a cordial welcome.
The Swamiji visited various departments and viewed the innovative labs, in-house startups and student-centric initiatives undertaken at the campus. He was fascinated with the student-centric initiatives undertaken by the college. He had words of praise for the unique education system established at Sahyadri.
Prior to his deputation to South Africa, Swamiji had served as the head of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Cherrapunji, Mehgalaya, India.
Academic Administrative Officer appointed as NSS Program Officer of Sahyadri College NSS Unit
Mrs. Shreelatha U.A., Academic Administrative Officer is appointed as NSS Program Officer of the Sahyadri NSS Unit. She has received the official Appointment Order from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) to that effect.
Mrs Shreelatha U.A. has organised a number of programmes under the NSS Unit for students as well as the community. She has been activity involved in various community outreach programmes which have helped the college build goodwill for the institution among general public.
Sahyadri family congratulates Mrs. Shreelatha U.A., and wishes her the best for her future endeavors in this new capacity.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Pratian Technologies
Pratian Technologies conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive for the 2019 outgoing batch of Engineering students of the Computer Science, Information Science, and Electronics & Communication branches. A total of 96 students attended the drive. Results are awaited.
Mock Interviews conducted by Final Year Students
Mock interviews were conducted by the final year students for the pre-final year students. The students were shortlisted from the online test. Thirteen students attended the group discussion, which had a panel of 3 final year students each. Individual feedback was given to the students. All of them were personally interviewed by the final year students and were questioned on technical, non-technical most commonly asked HR questions. Three students were declared ‘mock interview selects' based on the overall performance.
