Dr. M. N. Shetty Visits Sahyadri
Dr. M. N. Shetty, renowned metallurgist, visited the Campus. He called on Dr. D. L. Prabakara, Director, and Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal. He also interacted with Prof. M. N. Nayak, Administrator& Dean Placements and Prof. Umashanker B. S., Dean Academic. The progress of the infrastructure in particular and the institute in general was acknowledged and appreciated by him during the visit.

Six students of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering have been selected by Persistent Systems Ltd., in the pool campus recruitment drive.

Global Dignity Day Celebrated in the Campus
On the occasion of Global Dignity Day ‘Manthana’- an association of likeminded Sahyadrians organized a programme in the campus.
Ms. Aurin Madtha, SWO, addressed the students and gave a call to be positive and to keep smiling always. She emphasized on one’s goal and ‘Realize one’s self-worth and stick to the values', she added. She shared her experience at Sahyadri, cherished her membership of ‘Manthana’ and wished all the students a bright future.
Few faculty members, non teaching staff, a large group of students, and alumni were present on the occasion. Students shared their views and interacted with the Student Welfare Officer. Students showcased their talents followed by a fun filled session. The aim of the programme was to instill a new, positive, inclusive and interconnected sense of value in youth that will guide them as they grow.

Mrs. Neetha Kamath Awarded Doctoral Degree in Nursing
 Mrs. Neetha Kamath, HoD, Community Health Nursing, Sahyadri College of Nursing, has been awarded her doctoral degree for her thesis titled, “Effectiveness of PLA & lecturer method on teaching HIV/AIDS among nursing students in selected institutions of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district,” from Nitte University under the guidance of Dr. N. Udaya Kiran, Professor & Head, Department of Community Medicine, K. S. Hedge Medical Academy, Nitte.

Recertification Audit by ISO
 Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is recertified by ISO 9001:2008 for the next three years 2014-17 by TUV- NORD. Recertification was conducted at the Campus by the audit team of TUV- NORD, comprising of Shri. Mohan Khandate, and Shri. Srivatsa. They visited various departments and rigorously audited the processes and procedures. They expressed satisfaction and happiness with regard to the progress made by the institute, the infrastructure provided and procedures and systems adopted.

Sahyadri Girls’ Throw Ball Team Emerge the Champions
 Sahyadri Girls’ Throw ball team has emerged the Champions in the VTU Rest of Bangalore Zone and VTU Inter-Zone Throw ball Tournament held at NIEIT, Mysore. The Girls’ team defeated NIE, Mysore, in the finals. Over thirty-four Engineering colleges participated in the tournament. Sushmitha M., Priyanka, Ashmitha Rodrigues, Yashwitha, Tanya K. Shetty, Satvika J. Rai, Kavana B. L., Ananya A. Sheety, Lipitha M. G., Leonine Andrade, Suhani M. and Prathiksha Bhat represented the College in the tournament.

Mr. Harisha and Mr. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Science & Engineering have attended a three-day IEEE Computational Intelligence Workshop (CIW-2014) organized by Indian Institute of Information Technology in Allahabad.

 Mr. Lokesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration was invited by SDM Post-graduate Centre, Mangalore, to deliver a guest lecture on the topic 'Changing Corporate Scenario'.
