Mr. Jinto Thomas (M.Tech) CSE, project titled “Efficient Resource Utilization in Hadoop on Virtual Machines” and Ms. Sheethal P.N., Tania Ronald Mendonca, Yajnesh N. Rai, and Nobhunil Dutta’s, Semester VII, Computer Science & Engineering, project titled “Gene Mutation Detection And Analysing Emperical Big Data Using Hadoop” have made it to the All India level Unisys Cloud 20/20 student technical project contest version 6.0 under the guidance of Mr. Manjunath Mulimani and Mr. Sunil B.N. Assistant professors, Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
Cloud 20/20 Version 6.0, India’s biggest online technical project contest gives the platform to showcase student’s innovative and path-breaking technical ideas and take them to the next level. Through Cloud 20/20 Version 6.0, Unisys aspires to reach out to the leading engineering campuses in India and discover the finest technical talent.

Corporate Social Responsibility: Free Health Checkup and Competition For Healthy Child
A free health checkup and competition for healthy child was jointly organized by Lions and Lioness Club of Bantwal, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Women and Child Development, Taluk Panchayat, Bantwal, at Primary Health Center, Pudu Village. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A. P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. District Health Officer Dr. Shivakumar, Lion. Dr. Vasanth Baliga, Dr. Jeevan Lasrado, and Sri Krishnakumar Poonja of Sevanjali Trust were present.
The whole programme was sponsored by the College. The programme was co-ordinated by Mr. B. Raghavendra Prabhu and Dr. Vidyavathi, faculty members, Department of Business Administration and volunteered by members of Sahyadri Management Students Association.

  A paper titled “NPA in Agricultural Financing with Reference to Dakshina Kannada District" authored by Mr. Lokesh, Assistant Professor, S.G., and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, has been published in the International Journal of Retailing & Rural Business Perspectives for July to September 2014 issue; ISSN: 2279-0934 (PRINT) ISSN: 2279-0942 (ONLINE); Impact Factor for 2013 is 5.020. Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014
 The presentation introducing Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 was organized in Apsara Public School, NA Model HSS, BEMHSS, Kasaragod and GHSS, Cherkala. The team comprising of Mr. Kiran Prakash, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, Probid, Mohammed Anwar, Semester VII, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mudassir, and Sachin Kumar Nair, Semester V, Mechanical Engineering delivered sessions on the Science Talent Hunt programme, career options in Science stream, projects, method and reference for executing projects. The presentations were followed by demonstration shows of the projects of Sahyadri students.
Faculty Member Attends Induction Training Programme
Mrs. Shreelatha. U. A., AAO, has participated in the Induction Training Program on “Implementation of JJ Act and Counseling Children” for the CWC and Juvenile Justice Board members at Department of Psychiatric Social Work, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.
