Mr. Binay Shetty, Non-Executive Director, NMC Health visits Sahyadri
Mr. Binay Shetty, Non-executive Director, NMC Health accompanied by Dr. Sirish Shetty and Mr. Ravi Bakhru visited Sahyadri and interacted with the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. They very much appreciated the campus infrastructure and were impressed by the various facilities available to impart education in a holistic way.
Mr. Binay Shetty was appointed to the Board of NMC Health plc in June 2014 as a Non-Executive Director. Prior to which he was Chief Operating Officer for the Group. As COO, he oversaw operations of NMC Healths healthcare and distribution divisions including the HR, Marketing, IT and Projects units of the organization. Mr. Shetty is a director of UAE Exchange, a leading global remittance and foreign exchange provider.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with specializations in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Boston University, Massachusetts, USA.

Indian Navy campus recruitment drive
Indian Navy conducted the pooled campus recruitment drive for the graduating students of the 2017 Batch. 250 students from the pool colleges were part of the recruitment process. Captain A. K. Roy Choudhury, Command Recruitment Officer, Southern Naval Command accompanied by the panellists on the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the entire process.

Sahyadrians recruited by SLK Software
SLK Software conducted the pooled campus recruitment drive for the engineering, B.Sc. and BCA students of the 2017 batch. Mr. Vijay Kumara, Head-Talent Acquisition team, from the SLK Software Services Pvt. Ltd. accompanied by panellists on the recruitment team were at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process.

Zonal level events of SSTH 2016
SSTH Zonal level competition was held at Sharada High school, Mangaluru. Dr. C.K. Manjunath, Chief coordinator of SSTH, addressed the students and stressed on the importance of the event. Nine teams demonstrated working projects and thus showcased their innovative projects. Mr. Bharath Bhushan, Associate faculty, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Ms. Nisha, Associate faculty, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering & Mr. John Nikhil, Co-Founder of DTlabz evaluated the projects.
The Zonal event of SSTH-2016 was held at St. Agnes High School and PU College, Mangaluru Around five teams from High School and fourteen teams from Pre- University college participated in the project competition. On this occasion, Dr. Molly Choudhuri, HOD, Department of Training addressed the gathering and motivated the students to work on their projects. SSTH coordinators, Mrs. Ankitha K, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Mrs. Nikhitha C, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mr. Nishanth, CCO, DTLabz and Mr. Shrajan Bhandary, CTO, DTLabz evaluated the projects. Certificates for participation as well as to the winners were distributed during the valedictory ceremony. The event ended with positive feedback from the students of St. Agnes and an informative thought sharing by Mr. Shrajan Bhandary, CTO, DTLabz.

Alumni interacts with faculties
Mr. Somshekar G. C., alumni of Sahyadri, currently working as a Software Engineer at Vertex Solutions, visited the campus and interacted with faculties of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. During his interaction, he gave an insight to the existing trends in the industry. He greatly appreciated the growth of the institute.

Swachh Mangaluru
Abhiyan 2016
The Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan as part of Swach Bharath mission had a continued cleaning programme organized at Bendoorwell area in association with Ramakrishna mission Mangalore and the NSS unit of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. Mr. J R Lobo, Member of Legislative Assembly, Mangalore and Dr. U M Bhushi, Principal flagged off the drive. Mr. J R Lobo addressed the students and appraised them about keeping our environment clean. Prof. S.S Balakrishna, Vice Principal, Mrs. Shreelatha, A.A.O, Mrs. Mitra, HoD, Department of Mathematics and Mr. Naveen Pilar accompanied the first year E section students during their active participation in the cleaning drive. The mutt had provided with cleaning materials, including brooms, gloves etc. along with motivational T-shirts and banners.

Mr. Mithun Shetty of first semester from the department of Computer Science & Engineering has won 3rd place in 100 Metres and 1st place in 4x100 Metres relay in state level Amateur Athletic meet held at Bhagalkot.

Sahyadrian appointed as Project Staff in NITK Surathkal
Ms. Shwethashri K, 2016 passed out student of Civil Engineering Department has been recruited as Project Staff in the SERB Project titled "Optimal Damping of Porous Screen in Tuned Liquid Damper Structure Interaction" in the Applied Mechanics & Hydraulics Department, NITK, Surathkal.

Faculties Participate in National Level Marathon held in Bengaluru
Shriram Properties, Bengaluru organised a National Level Marathon in Bengaluru. Mr. Sunil C K & Mr. Sunil B N, Faculty members of Department of Computer Science & Engineering participated in the marathon and successfully finished the Full marathon (42.195 km) and Half Marathon (21.097 km).
Mr. Sunil C K ranked 23rd in Overall and 4th in Age Category of Full Marathon.
