Third Year Engineering students: Winners at C CAMP, National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC)

Harshith, 3rd year student of Computer Science & Engineering and Ankith S and Chithritha Karkera, 3rd year students of Information Science & Engineering have won the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) organized by C CAMP (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms) for the project 'Low-Cost Ventilator along with Aerosol Therapy' under the medical field category.
Students have received the cash prize of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs.

Director-R&D addresses MBAs on “Economic Analysis of Sugar Industry in India”

Dr. Manjappa S, Director-R&D and Consultancy, facilitated a Talk on ‘Economic Analysis of Sugar Industry in India’ for MBA final year students on 20th Dec, 2021. He spoke about the current financial scenario of sugar manufacturing industry, implications of various by-product manufactured using bagasse and Ethanol waste produced in the process of sugar manufacturing. Students were asked to brainstorm on how to re-engineer the whole operations process of sugar industry to recover the current deficit factories. They were also asked to design strategies to ensure company’s run full-fledged for the whole year rather than being seasonal. He briefed on government decontrol and their impact, cost of production involved in manufacturing process and robust growth in sugar consumption. He concluded the session by inducing students to critically think on the case study which involved revamping the loss making sugar manufacturing firm.

CSE faculty presents paper in Springer IACC-21 Conference hosted by University of Malta, Europe

Dr. Shreyas Rao, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering presented a paper titled "An analysis of the psychological implications of COVID-19 pandemic on undergraduate students and efforts on mitigation" at the 11th International Advanced Computing Conference (IACC) held virtually, hosted by University of Malta, Europe on 19th Dec, 2021. The paper is co-authored by Dr. Pushpalatha K, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering. The IACC-21 conference had 11 IEEE Fellows as Keynote speakers in various sessions and participants from 57 countries. The publication partner is Springer and presented papers will be indexed in both Web of Science and Scopus. Dr. Shreyas Rao also served as Technical Program Committee Member for the conference.
