Phase II: AICTE Sponsored One-Week STTP on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy”

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Phase II of AICTE Sponsored One-Week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy” for faculty of AICTE affiliated institutes was held on 14th June 2021. Dr. Anand S Deshpande, Registrar, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, was the Chief Guest alongside Dr. S Manjappa, Director-Research; Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Programme (Chairperson) and Prof. Sushma V (Convener).
Dr. Anand S Deshpande, in his Opening Remarks acknowledged Sahyadri as the family of VTU and appreciated the institution for its innovative approaches in creating a holistic learning environment for the students. He inspired the faculty participants by mentioning how elite the profession of Teaching is with power to Build or Collapse a Nation. He stressed on right mind-set and asked to induct learnability in students. He emphasized on minimizing gap between the Gen-Z and Faculty by giving much beyond syllabus and introducing Innovative Teaching Pedagogy. He finally urged faculty to drive lateral and creative thinking in students.

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organised Two-Day Workshop for faculty on “Autodesk Fusion 360 – Leading with Generative Design”

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering of Sahyadri and USAM Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, in association with Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC) and FLAMES-Mechanical Engineering Students Association organized a Two-Day workshop for faculty on “Autodesk Fusion 360 – Leading with Generative Design” during 10th to 11th June 2021 from 2.00pm to 4.30pm through Zoom platform. It was a Hands-on session for faculty on Autodesk Fusion 360 software. It started with the basics to Design and Develop the industry related models/products. It was a certified program from AUTODESK.

The workshop included topics related to:
• Introduction to Autodesk Fusion 360 and how it supports collaboration and distance learning.
• Design Tools
• Generative Design
• Animation, Rendering
• Building a curriculum that helps today’s students land those engineering jobs.
• Latest trends and shifts in the design & manufacturing industry, including the Future of Work.
• Distinguishing between traditional task-based mind-sets and holistic engineering.
Fusion 360 is the first 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE tool of its kind – connecting an entire product development process into one unified platform. Fusion 360 allows students and educators to design, test, and fabricate within a single tool from anywhere.

ISE Department organized a Webinar on “Mobile Application Development and its Applications”

Dept. of Information Science & Engineering in association with IEEE Student Branch-SCEM, STAISE and SAHYADRI-IIC organized a Webinar on “Mobile Application Development and its Applications”. The resource person for the event was Mr. Rathan Sharma, Lead Engineer-RDA Labs, Bengaluru. Mr. Rathan Sharma spoke about the fundamental concepts of Mobile Application development and its importance in day to day activities. He also discussed the various aspects regarding the different frameworks used for Android Application Development. Further, he also mentioned about the various challenges in developing the Mobile Apps with real time examples. At the end of the session, he answered the participants’ queries about placement opportunities with respect to mobile application development. A total of One Hundred students participated in the event.
