On April 6th’2021, a request letter was submitted to Mr. N Shashi Kumar, IPS, Police Commissioner Mangaluru for Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Center Of Excellence in Cyber Security Digital Forensics Investigation under the able leadership of Dr. Ananth Prabhu G and Prof. Harisha. The Center of Excellence members Prof. Naitik S T and Prof. Srinivas P M were also involved in the submission process.

Students from Team Challengers get Certified By Solidworks

Members from Team Challengers - Pranav Sathish and V Mukesh Kumar from third year Electronics & Communication Engineering; Pratham KB from third year Mechanical Engineering; Abhinav Thodthillaya M and Pratheek Bekal from second year Mechanical Engineering; Ashritha Rai from third year Mechanical Engineering are validated by Dassault Systèmes and SolidWorks Corp. as Certified SOLIDWORKS Professionals (CSWP).
About SOLIDWORKS Certification Program:
Solidworks provides many types of certification mainly Professional CSWP and Associate CSWA. SOLIDWORKS certifications are used as a benchmark to measure user's knowledge and competency with SOLIDWORKS software.
The program establishes an industry standard by which SOLIDWORKS professionals are evaluated through a fair, comprehensive test of user's knowledge of SOLIDWORKS both in the areas of Mechanical Design and Design Validation. Civil Engineering Dept. Receives Funding under Student Project Programme from KSCST, Govt. of Karnataka

Out of the 24 Projects approved by KSCST for Engineering & MBA Departments this year by KSCST under Student Project Programme 2020-21, Dept. of Civil Engineering has bagged 5 Student Project Grants. Every year Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) conducts the Student Project Programme (SPP) for providing financial and academic support to the Final Year students of B.E, M.Tech, M.Sc and MBA in Karnataka state.

AICTE-ISTE National Refresher Programme Phase-2 organized by Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

Day Two (7th Apr’2021):

The first session was engaged by Prof. Ramani Venkat. Prof. Venkat holds a vast experience in the field of IT Sales. He is a Sales Strategist Consultant & NLP Coach and has mentored 7 Start-ups. Prof. Venkat gave a presentation on the topic Gamification of Collaborative learning. During his presentation, he highlighted the importance of gamification and strategy in collaborative learning.
Second session was engaged by Dr. Kalpana Ranganath Kharade, a former elementary school teacher with teaching experience in urban BMC and private schools. Dr. Kalpana Kharade has scaled great heights professionally due to sheer determination and persistence. Her 100% vision impairment has never come in her way to achieve her well-deserved place in the academic community. She is presently an adjunct Associate Professor, a recognized PhD guide in Mumbai and Somaiya Vidyavihar University and visiting faculty at HBCSE. The topic of her presentation was – ‘Facilitating learning through PBL approach’. During her presentation, she mentioned the importance of Problem-Based Learning, Learning Approach, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills.

Third session was engaged by Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, Professor, Head of Projects and Funding, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. The topic of the resource person was – ‘Collaborative tools for student-faculty research teams’. In his presentation, he highlighted the student faculty collaborative research culture, research standards, and usage of collaborative information search tools and collaborative information storage tools.

Fourth session was engaged by Prof. Rajesha S. He holds a Doctoral degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) and currently working as Principal at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. In his presentation, he stressed on the Importance of Laboratory Experiments, Basic Principles of Learning, and important factors to inculcate during laboratory to understand the concept and Need of Design Experiments.

Student Counsellor attends International Webinar on COVID-19 Vaccination Education organized by IFRC

Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, attended an International webinar on COVID 19 Vaccination Education organized by International Federation of Red Cross and Red Cresent (IFRC) where the experts from Austrian Red Cross and British Red Cross shared their expertise and knowledge of Vaccination process implemented in their country. The session was conducted by Frank Mahoney, Senior Officer, Immunization Community Health, IFRC Geneva; Jasmin Ahmed Ali Dualeh and Chole Bruce, Youth Content Developer, Community Education, British Red Cross, Gerald Czech, Head of Marketing and Communications, Austrian Red Cross. The session was facilitated by Karl J Zarhuber, Humanitarian Education Initiative Coordinator, IFRC.
