Eight-Day Training on Data Analytics for MBAs

First year MBA students are currently undergoing an Eight-Day Training on Data Analytics. Prof. Dinesh Prasad, Chairman of Noble Business School; Prof. Sudheendra, Head of BCA Department of Noble Business School and Prof. Muzhamin, Faculty of Noble Business School of Bengaluru are the facilitators of the Training. Dept. of Business Administration-MBA evaluates the course curriculum from time to time and introduces training programmes for students to bridge any gap in the curriculum in order to enhance the student’s employability. This is one of its initiatives to make its students on par with the corporate demands. Data Analysts are highly sought after profiles by the recruiting firms and trainings like these will open new avenues of placement for students.

New Age Incubation Network – NAIN

NAIN is aimed at assisting the educational institutions nurture an ecosystem for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in different states of Karnataka.

As a part of the process, Dr. B.S Basanti, General Manager - KITS accompanied by Mr. Mohan Kumar, Executive - KITS from NAIN team visited Sahyadri to inspect the facilities. The team was taken through the campus and an interaction session was arranged with students on their respective projects which were funded. The NAIN team was led by our seasoned leader Dr. S Manjappa, Director-Research & Consultancy along with our beloved Principal Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte and Dr. Rajesha S - Dean Academics.

As a part of the inspection, Dr. B.S Basanti, viewed the presentation of all the student projects which were sanctioned for funding. She interacted with the Company Heads & also the Start-Up’s set up within the campus. During the interaction the representatives demonstrated the various products developed by their respective companies and discussed about their future Road Map. A total of 11 projects have been selected for the first batch and have been funded by NAIN.

Dr. Sharan Shetty - Faculty in MBA entitles eligibility in KSET

Dr. Sharan Shetty, Professor in the Dept. of Business Administration-MBA has cleared the Karnataka State Eligibility Test in the area of Management, which was held during December 2018. He could achieve this in the first attempt itself soon after his return from the host country Malaysia. The next dream of him is to get eligibility from the National Testing Agency.

Alumnus of Computer Science & Engineering Dept Authored a Book

Mr. Koshik Raj, an alumnus of Computer Science and Engineering, Authored a book titled "Foundations of Blockchain: The pathway to cryptocurrencies and decentralized blockchain applications" published by Packt Publishing.

Koshik Raj is an information security enthusiast who holds a Master's degree in computer science and information security. He has a background of working with RSA, a network security company. He has also worked as a senior developer in CoWrks, Bengaluru. He has handed over one of the copies to Sahyadri Department Library as a token of love and gratitude towards the institution. Campus Recruitment Drive - Seventh Sense Talent Solutions

Seventh Sense Talent Solutions conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment drive for the BE students of 2019 outgoing batch.
Mr. Prithivi Raj M, Corporate Relation Incharge was at the campus to facilitate the recruitment process. A total of 94 students from DK & Udupi district participated in the drive. The results are awaited.

Sahyadrian wins Battle of Bands at a State Level Inter-Collegiate fest

Beryl Priyanka of eighth semester from Electronics and Communication Engineering secured First place in BATTLE OF BANDS at the State Level Inter-collegiate, Cultural, Technical and Management Fest-2019 held at MITE, Moodabidri. She has also won cash Prize of Rs. 15,000. Battle of Bands is a contest in which two or more bands compete for the title of "Best Band". The winner is determined by a voice vote of the audience or the band that brings the most people to support them. Traditionally, battles of bands are held at live music events and forums.

• Nihal M. is from Kasargod, Kerala. He has pursued his high school from Chinmaya Vidyalaya and PUC from GHSS, Madikkai. He has secured first place in a competition held at NITK and participated in an event held at IIT Roorkee. His hobbies are playing football, and gaming.
• Chandan T.C. is from Madikeri. He has pursued his high school from St. Michael’s High School, Madikeri and PUC from Ambika PUC, Puttur. He has received ‘A’ certificate in sixth KAR AIR NCC. He is a district level hockey player. His hobbies are playing cricket & hockey, gardening, and cooking. He aspires to become an electronics engineer.
• Rahul Kamath K. is from Mangaluru. He has pursued his high school from St. Mary’s High School and PUC from P.P.C, Udupi. He has secured second place in “Line Follower Robot” held at NIT Rourkela, second place in Image Processing held at NIT Rourkela, third place in “Line Follower Robot” and fifth place in Sand Rover held at IIT Kharagpur. His hobbies are playing football, cricket & kabaddi, cooking, and reading books. He aspires to be a CEO in a Multinational Company.
