Webinar on "Job opportunities in Agriculture and Fisheries sector"

joboppo The Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) at Sahyadri organized a Webinar on “Job opportunities in Agriculture and Fisheries sector” facilitated by Dr. Shivakumar Magada, Professor of Aquatic Biology and Associate Director of Extension, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru on 21st Apr’2020. Dr. Shivakumar addressed the need for collaborative initiatives that could use engineering skills to enhance the impact in the Fisheries and Agricultural sectors. Educating the students on the incredible opportunities that this country has to offer given its dynamic economy and a variety of blooming sectors, Dr. Magada approached these issues with high spirit, asking more graduates to look forward to empowering these sectors with technological interventions that are cost-effective and scalable. Ideas are plenty, given the incredible problems associated with this diverse nation creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to venture into these untapped markets.
joboppo He discussed the need to produce more yield given the circumstances after this pandemic, with mentions of Poly houses, Aquaponics, Precision Agriculture, Seed counting devices, Food processing units, Mechanising weed harvesting, BioFloc tanks, Integrated farming and many more, bringing to light the increasing demands for the same in the upcoming years. Automating these processes with a collaborative workforce and like-mindedness to see the potential in these sectors is of utmost importance. He urged students to see value in the Agricultural and Fisheries sector contributing largely to India's GDP, by innovating and building solutions.

Special Lecture on Research Paper writing on IOT

joboppo A special lecture was engaged by Dr. Mustafa B, researcher on "How to write effective international papers and journals on IOT". Dr. Mustafa has more than 19+ years of experience in the field of Teaching and is one of the prominent researchers. Having more than 40 International Journals and Papers to his credit, Dr. Mustafa sir is an IEEE Reviewer. The lecture began by a pledge by Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, on the occasion of the World Earth Day. To conserve the nature and do our part to make sure we create a greener world.
joboppo Dr. Mustafa touched upon Topics like IoT system architecture, IoT enabling technologies, IoT communication and networking protocols such as network coding, and IoT services and applications. Examples of IoT demands, impacts, and implications on sensors technologies, Big Data management, and future Internet design for various IoT use cases, such as smart cities, smart environments, smart homes, etc. The fields of interest include: IoT architecture such as things-centric, data-centric, service-oriented IoT architectures, IoT enabling technologies and systematic integration such as sensor technologies, big sensor data management, and future Internet design for IoT.
Key Points discussed during the session:
• Evolution of IOT and how soon it would touch 1 Trillion.
• Challenges in the IOT- Scope for research- Security, Resource Efficiency, Costs, Innovation Management etc.
• One of the strong developments in the future years of applications of integrated technologies will be technological solutions based on the combination of Internet of Things technology and Blockchain. The view currently prevails is that there are potentially many uses in the future for integrated Internet of Things technologies and Blockchain. The Internet of Things allows you to develop technologies for remote control of various devices from the level of, for example, a smartphone. Blockchain, on the other hand, ensures a high level of security and decentralization of information transfer on the Internet, including the execution of financial transactions via the Internet. In addition, in the coming years, the use of information processing and analysis techniques will grow in Big Data database systems in conjunction with data processing in the cloud with access to Big Data database systems from mobile devices, and thus the possibility of combining these technologies with technological solutions typical of the Internet of Things.
• Blockchain for 5G IoT is currently a very hot topic.
In the area of healthcare, deep sleep and breath in-out with palm sensor with Applications like 1. ERP, PLS and MES, 2. Age Prediction and 3. Life disturbance
