Pranav Hebbar’s words of appreciation for SSTH’18…

Mr. Pranav Hebbar, Co-Founder of Make Room India, who was one of the guests during the Flagship event - Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt 2018 (SSTH’18) held on 10th Nov’18, expressed his gratitude and shared words of appreciation to Sahyadri.

He says - “It was fantastic to be a part of SSTH'18 of all the wonderful things that I saw that day, the energy, the inspired kids and their science projects were simply brilliant. As a social entrepreneur and an educator myself, I take this opportunity to congratulate you and your team for making SSTH & other initiatives happen - our younger generation needs platforms, exposure like that to realise their true potential and be active contributors in nation building.

I also had the opportunity of interacting with your 1st year students and faculty members involved in Social Innovation programme, it was warming to see so much commitment and work going in that direction. Kudos to the team!

I am amazed to see how committed you are to make Sahyadri the hub of Innovation and industries and thus create a new paradigm in STEM Education. We need more education entrepreneurs that are willing to disrupt the status quo and bring in much needed change in the present system.

Through our Make Room India (& Group) and other initiatives that I am involved in, we strive to enable youth to be a part of the solution rather than idle spectators of problems, and I find a great synergy in your efforts vis-a-vis ours. In the weeks and months to come, I look forward to explore to co-create social innovation ecosystem keeping Sahyardi at the centre”.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Introduction of Mentor:
Dr. Pushpalatha K is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and as Chief Editor of Sahyadri International Journal of Research. She has a PhD in Multimedia Mining from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal. She is with Sahyadri since the last 8 years and the in-charge of SS Iyyengar Sahyadri Discovery lab. Her research interests are Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Computer Vision and Database.

Mentee Details:
• Achal N is from Mangaluru and did his 10th from Chinmaya High School and PUC from Sharada PU College Mangaluru. He has participated in inter-college Badminton and Volleyball competitions. He is interested in playing both indoor & outdoor games. His aspiration is to work for a reputed organization and to create something new to help the society.
• Shravya J Poojary is from Mangaluru. She did her SSLC at Besant English Medium School and PUC at Canara College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are drawing and coin collection. Her aspiration is to work for a reputed MNC.
• Navya R Shetty is from Mangaluru. She did her SSLC and PUC at Kanachur Public School and Sharada Vidyaniketan Mangaluru respectively. Her hobbies are dancing, singing and reading books. She has participated in various dance competitions and won prizes. She intends to work for a reputed MNC.
• Bhavana is from Kundapur and did her 10th at Acharaya Memorial and PUC at Excellent PU College Kundapur. She aspires to work for a reputed MNC.
• Thanuja is from Mangaluru and did her 10th at St. Mary’s High School and PUC at Canara PU College Mangaluru. She has participated in athletics, kho kho and kabaddi. She is also interested in dancing and singing. She aims to be a Software Developer.
• Karthik is from Mangaluru. He studied SSLC at St. Joseph High School and PUC at Canara PU College Mangaluru. He won Gold Medal in 600 mts in Cluster Level. His hobbies are drawing and sports. He aspires to transform into an efficient engineer and serve the society.
• Rakshith A Y Gowda is from Tumkur. He studied SSLC and PUC at St. Martin’s & Sri Chaithanya Hyberabad respectively. His hobbies are Gaming, Sports, and Travelling.
